Director - APAC QHSSE - Weatherford - Singapore
Job description
Key responsibilities include:
Ensuring the implementation of the Corporate QHSSE management system throughout the region
Directing regional and product line QHSSE personnel
Establishing common training standards for use throughout the region (i.e. QHSSE specific training, management system training, individual safety certification training)
Providing common work standards for use throughout the region (i.e. working at heights, electrical safety standards, blood borne pathogens, H2S standards, etc.)
Consolidating, evaluating, and processing the QHSSE statistical information from all Weatherford entities within the region for rollup into the Corporate QHSSE Department
Ensuring that the customer specific QHSSE databases are populated as necessary for all businesses to perform work within the region
Representing Weatherford as the common face of QHSSE within the region
Providing incident reporting protocols to be followed by all Weatherford entities within the region
Co-ordinating safety activities to ensure implementation
Auditing the QHSSE management system to ensure that it is uniformly implemented and effective throughout APAC
Understanding and complying with all QHSSE rules and company policies of Weatherford
Identifying and appraising conditions which could produce accidents and financial losses and evaluates potential extent of injuries resulting from accidents
Conducting or directing research studies to identify hazards and evaluate loss producing potential of given system, operation or process
Developing accident-prevention and loss-control systems and programs for incorporation into common operational policies of the organisation
Devising methods to evaluate the safety program and conduct or direct evaluations.
Desired Skills and Experience
At least 10 to 12 years’ experience of QHSSE experience of which at least 3 years Oilfield service operational experience/Oilfield service QHSSE experience within APAC
At least 3 to 5 years previous management and / or supervision experience
The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.
Able to travel within the region. Expected travel : 25 to 50%.
Acceptable driving record as per HR Guidelines / Policy.
Working knowledge of APAC country specific safety codes, environmental, health regulations, hazardous materials, and emergency preparedness
Strong leadership & interpersonal skills
Excellent teamwork, communication, organizational and presentation skills
Self motivated and self driven
QHSSE related degree / certification (CRSP, CSP) and Organizational affiliations (ASSE, SPE, IADC) preferred.
