ROLE SUMMARY
This purpose of this role is to be fully focused on enhancing Visa’s reputation across Singapore and Malaysia, working closely with the country teams to develop communications plans that support business objectives and drive revenue growth. The role is part of Visa’s Global Corporate Relations group, which oversees all corporate relations functions at Visa Inc., including media relations, industry analyst relations, public affairs and issues management. It develops and oversees communication programs that support Visa Inc.'s brand, marketing, product, and technology strategies and also supports executive and employee communication, and digital communication strategies. This is an individual contributor role based in Singapore, reporting to the Head of Corporate Relations Southeast Asia.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Media relations
Develop the strategy and manage the execution of Visa’s media relations programs across Singapore and Malaysia
Identify and maximize opportunities to enhance Visa’s profile in the media
Develop content to promote Visa’s brand, technical and industry leadership, new products and services
Establish and maintain close relationships with journalists across general, business, lifestyle and technology media
Ensure spokespeople are well briefed and trained to deliver key messages
Internal communications
Develop and deliver informative and engaging internal communications activities including employee communications programs and staff volunteering events
Public affairs
Work with Visa’s Government Affairs team to support Visa’s public policy position across Southeast Asia
Client communications
Support the business to communicate with all relevant levels of management within client organizations
Sponsorships
Develop local activities to leverage global and regional sponsorships
Issues management
Help the business to identify, prepare for and manage any reputational issues
Social media
D evelop content for and manage Visa’s presence across relevant social media channels
Professional
First degree with minimum 8 to 10 years’ Public Relations experience working in a relevant corporation or Public Relations consultancy
Strong network of local and international media contacts
Banking and/or technology experience desired
Strategic communications planning
Superior interpersonal and presentational skills
Financial budgeting
Outstanding writing abilities in English. Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia desired but not essential.


Technical
Microsoft Office competency
Expertise in social media and digital communication channels
Financial budgeting.
