Job description
Purpose
The Ops Controllership team supports the Asia Pacific Operation Center (APOC) for the full spectrum of financial accounting and reporting responsibilities, which also includes partnering with various business stakeholders to provide revenue recognition expertise that may impact the operations and business.

Responsibilities
This individual contributor position is responsible for all revenue-related matters within APOC. He/she works very closely with his/her peer, the Senior Finance Manager, Revenue Assurance to be the key contacts in APOC Finance for new initiatives, projects and business model changes that may have revenue impact. The key areas are:

(1) Technical Consultations and reviews
# Be the subject matter expert to provide technical advice on revenue recognition, in order to influence deal structures to maximize revenue for the company.
# Review software and other contractual arrangements in accordance with US GAAP, to identify non-standard revenue recognition clauses that may require the relevant accounting treatment
# Work with subsidiary business controllers, Operations groups (Order Processing, Asia Credit Services, Program
Management) to understand and resolve issues identified in the agreement reviews

(2) Drive quarter-end close process in compliance with US GAAP
# Complete quarterly revenue workbook to account for additional revenue adjustments that need to be booked and post revenue adjustments into SAP system
# Review of monthly reconciliations
# Report out on revenue analysis for the quarter
# Assist in all internal or external audit queries on revenue recognition
# Implement initiatives as needed to enhance control compliance with US GAAP

(3) Education and Training
# Propagate revenue recognition and its importance to stakeholders/business partners through regular education sessions, brown bags, summits and newsletters

(4) Projects and Others
# Projects: Be the subject matter expert to represent APOC Finance to support global or large-scale Ops projects or ad-hoc projects at the regional level. This is by way of providing advisory support to ensure compliance with revenue recognition standards.
# SOX: Work closely with the Revenue Cycle process owner for all revenue recognition activities in scope for Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and implement initiatives to enhance GAAP controls. These include updating process documentation and assisting tester in SOX testings.
# Others: Provide revenue support for ad hoc queries and manage side agreement survey process

Selection Criteria
# 6-10 years of related work experience in a IT/software MNC or Public Accounting Firm, with at least 3 years direct experience in US GAAP
# Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; Certified CPA
# Strong US GAAP/IAS knowledge particularly in SOP 97-2 .
# Strong planning and organizational skills, with ability to work under tight deadlines
# Strong interpersonal skills and impact & influence, with ability to communicate effectively across different levels in organization.
# Ability to work both independently and as a team player
