We are seeking the Director Business Operations to partner with our various business groups in Global Operations driving critical initiatives across the globe to shape our future as an organization. The role has significant impact in driving business growth by providing the right competencies and skillsets given the fundamental changes and challenges in the business.

Position Description
This position is responsible for managing a regional team of resources that function across a variety of disciplines. Employees in this team understand business requirements, create and sell the program and project visions and strategies, perform scoping, planning, and scheduling, mitigate risk, implement process efficiency, and manage results metrics. This position is further responsible for communication with the broader APOC and WW teams, other business groups at Microsoft and with customers/partners. In addition to Project Management and Refinement (Six Sigma), Business Intelligence, Systems and Tools, Supply Chain and the mechanics of how we work to improve the Customer and Partner Experience are managed within the Business Operations team. This Director should be capable of making rationalized decisions across multiple dimensions, and display a level of leadership at the APOC and WW level appropriate for a person who has a view across multiple aspects of Operations.

This position provides leadership for the Business Operations Group across the following functional areas
Culture of Improvement - Partner with leadership and people managers to expand our process improvement capabilities & culture among our employees and vendors
Business Insight - Work with LT to turn our Systems, BI, CPE & QBE efforts into a new capability that provides true business value to our business; focus on Revenue Opportunities, Cost Controls, and CPE Survey results
Process Automation - Lead & mentor our project teams to drive highest quality & fastest time to improvements with a specific focus on automation (or elimination of costly manual work)
Develop New Capabilities - On-Boarding projects to ensure our teams are properly prepared to succeed at managing our new processes and functions
Lead various functional teams including Project Management, Business Intelligence, Six Sigma, Systems & Tools, Supply Chain and improvement of the Customer and Partner experience
Deliver projects for stakeholders to agreed schedules, budgets and quality
Manage deployment of all Systems implementations
Represent the ROC acting as the coordination point and focus for IT communications, business processes, and resource allocation for release and run/sustain functions (Quarterly Fixes, enhancements)
Work across the IT teams to drive end-to-end, cross-segment process and tools deployment
Manage IT Planning & deployment across APOC Commercial including business requirements definition and user acceptance testing (UAT)
Maintenance of APOC and WW scorecard and management of related correction of error projects
The primary measurement of success will be through improving our Work Health Index (WHI) survey results, CPE survey results, reducing our costs of goods sold (COGS), and effective OPEX management

Responsibilities
Functional leadership for the business operations team (PMO / Business Excellence / SQA / CPE / UAT / scorecard management), ensuring targets are cascaded, performance monitored and effective reward structure in place
Establish, execute and maintain a single and resourced change plan for operations. Working with global counterparts develop and implement global PMO and associated governance processes to minimize duplication and maximize ROI
Budgetary management for business operations function, vendor consulting, UAT. Includes budgets, quarterly accountability
Liaise with other organizations internal and external to operations to fund incremental activity that exceeds our baseline
Ensure business consulting services provide value for money
Drive a positive culture of process improvement across operations; including awareness, rewards, recognition, skills training, and appropriate use of Six Sigma, LEAN & Kaizen methodologies
Scorecard management across APOC and WW

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
A minimum of 10 years of highly relevant business experience: business planning, strategy, business process outsourcing, team leadership, operations, etc.
A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible people leadership and development experience
Strong leadership, excellent organization, planning, engagement and business acumen
Proven track record of team building and people development
Excellent cross group collaboration and win-win solution generation
Demonstrated Strategic thinking ability resulting in forward-looking solutions to business opportunities
Strong process excellence skills
Proven track record of delivering timely, quality and customer focused results
Ability to work effectively within all levels of the organization, from executives to individual contributors
Successful history of leading large-scale and/or global changes quickly and effectively operations, management, and executive staff

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree is a plus
Process improvement certifications are a plus
