Senior Program Manager - Microsoft - Singapore

If you are interested in working directly with customers and engineering, helping to architect and work on some of the largest and most complex private and hybrid cloud projects on the Microsoft platform - the Windows and System Center Customer Architect and Technology (CAT) team is the place for you.

Our mission and focus is on Accelerating Adoption of private and hybrid cloud solutions based upon Windows and System Center - providing guidance, recommendations and architectural best practice to consultants and technical specialists working with customer and service providers, Providing Insight to Engineering - helping them to understand hot topics, key issues and opportunities for new features and functionality and on Knowledge Delivery - creating blogs, whitepapers, books and other materials that help our field and our customers understand key technical issues relating to private and hybrid cloud computing, see for some examples.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about cloud computing (Private, Hybrid, and Public), has deep technical knowledge of Windows Server, System Center and the Windows Azure Pack and is comfortable engaging and communicating with senior executives and technical architects, clearly able to discuss and present technical solutions to business problems. To be successful in this challenging position, you must be able to combine both technical depth and experience with business and strategic thinking, exceptional cross-group collaboration and effective communication and presentation skills.

The job holder is expected to be based in Singapore and will report to the APAC WSSC CAT time zone Lead also located in Singapore. You will be a self-starter, comfortable working remotely from your team / from your line manager and be willing to travel to locations in/across Asia Pacific at least 40% of the time. You should also expect to travel to and attend meetings and events in the United States at least once per year.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

1) Essential Experience
Strong matrix-management skills and the ability to deal effectively in ambiguous environments are a basic requirement. The ability to work proactively across different internal groups and have positive influence with various internal and external contacts is also critical to this position.

2) Technical/Functional Skills
The ideal candidate will have detailed technical knowledge and experience of Windows Server, System Center and the Windows Azure Pack (WAP) and will be able to clearly articulate how to leverage these technologies to build a private, hybrid and service provider (hosted) cloud solution.

3) Personal Attributes/Interpersonal Skills
Great communication and presentation skills. Fast learning, passionate about technology and in driving for results. Self-driven and self-motivated, ability/willingness to travel extensively (30-40% of the time).

4) Qualifications
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Outstanding collaboration skills in order to partner effectively across all levels of the organization.
Strong leadership skills to influence and drive change in our product strategies and roadmap
Deep technical knowledge in Windows Server, System Center and the Windows Azure Pack
Experience architecting cloud solutions and/or a strong consulting background
5+ years’ experience as a program manager, technical architect or similar role
3+ years’ experience with Cloud-based technologies
Bachelor/Master’s degree in Computer Science or related disciplines, or equivalent work experience.

Special Requirements/Additional Information e.g. Language Skills
Software development skills (especially) in PowerShell are an advantage
Effective skills in two or more APAC languages are an advantage
