Go Daddy is seeking a leader to serve GoDaddy’s APAC Data Center Operations teams. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a fast paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities, while maintaining availability and uptime. As the regional Data Center Operations manager, you will be responsible for supporting a broad range of technical areas including servers, data center infrastructure, networks, cabling, and logistics. Additionally, you will be responsible for the operations and strategy in the support, maintenance, deployment, upgrade and optimization of infrastructure.

We are looking for someone well-versed in data center best practices, cabling standards, capacity projections and are up to date with latest technologies. Attention to detail and documentation skills are critical components to success in this position. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Global Data Center Operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide direction, management and mentorship to all employees
Work with leadership to define regional strategies including partner/vendor/site selections
Work with various stakeholders to coordinate and implement project requirements
Prioritize project and team requests

Manage design standards across multiple teams utilizing industry best practices
Define, document and maintain design docs for cabling standards, rack design, server room design/utilization and enterprise capacity planning
Internal project management, design and working with vendors for data center infrastructure solutions
Work closely with Data Center Engineering and Critical Facility Teams
Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously
Work to find creative ways to keep operational costs to a minimum and will work outside of the box with team members to improve efficiency and implement new data center strategies
Maintain, monitor, analyze and troubleshoot data center equipment connectivity issues, provide break/fix resolution or escalation
Develop data center capacity planning models
Multi-million dollar financial forecasting and budgeting experience
Vendor management

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Fluency in English is required; Fluency in Chinese Mandarin highly desired
Exhibit hands-on and recent enterprise technology skills
Working knowledge of Enterprise Server and Data Center Infrastructure
Demonstrated ability to manage and multi-task all critical programs and projects
Ability to achieve specific results from general direction
Ingenuity to find creative solutions for complex problems
Ability to determine the best course of action based on extremely complex issues in a time-pressured environment
Ability to work independently and produce creative and practical solutions

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
6+ years experience of direct, data center engineering management
Experience leading technical teams in data center environments
Detailed understanding of current data center best practices, design principals, Power systems (UPS, STS, PDU, Power strips, etc…), Network connectivity standards, Rack Design, Thermodynamics, Fires Suppression, Cabling standards (copper and fiber) and Capacity Management
Hands on/Working knowledge of server and network architecture and associated components
Experience deploying hardware and services in data centers
Experience developing and executing SOP’s/MOP’s
Demonstrated familiarity with safe work practices
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment with many deadlines and competing priorities
Solid understanding of a 24 x 7 high-availability, mission-critical server infrastructure - MUST be able to articulate needs and plans to vendors
Must work well under sustained pressure and deadlines
Ability to read / understand blueprints and specifications
Ability to plan, document, and effectively implement projects and systems
Strong management, budgeting and business skills required, along with a proven track record in IT operations/engineering development and management
Experience with Visio, Advanced MS Word & Excel
Data Center, Networking or industry certifications preferred
Work closely with industry experts to ensure Go Daddy remains forward looking and cutting edge
