Director - Product Line Management - Surveillance - Seagate Technology - Singapore


Job description
Seagate Technologies product management team is seeking a video and surveillance storage product line strategist to lead our expansion into the growing video capture market globally. This role will be responsible for market evaluation, feature development, product and business planning for vertical specific storage lines that address customer solution requirements. The position reports to the Senior Director of Client Product Line Management.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Execute core product management efforts which include:
customer portfolio segmentation and management strategies
competitive analysis and financial analysis
product concept and business case development
marketing strategy and value proposition development
business requirements definition and development
Leverage existing knowledge and relationships with video capture & surveillance providers and customers to gain insight into new Seagate product innovation opportunities
Conduct research and special studies/analyses to develop a point-of-view in support of Seagate’s overall Client HDD strategy including target identification and profiling, and development of strategic rationale.
Coordinate with the eco system to drive an advantaged position for Seagate.
Utilize analysis to prepare presentations on market growth and change initiatives and strategy development to provide senior management with a base for evaluation and decision making.
Lead and/or participate in discussions with key emerging account and industry leading partners regarding emerging trends.
Develop a strategy for potential growth opportunities based on market shifts identified in engagements and studies.
Develop worldwide awareness about the role Seagate plays in surveillance from low end to high end. Work to have Seagate recognized as a leader in the surveillance space.
Participate in, organize and manage project teams for various growth or strategy projects across multiple functional and business lines for specific projects and initiatives.
Work within product management to define and execute the vision, in close collaboration with clients, sales teams, design and engineering

Desired Skills and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS

3-5 years progressive experience in product management and product marketing in preferably video capture and surveillance (HW, SW, Services), with demonstrated track record of meeting revenue and growth objectives
Complete market analysis, market research and competitive analysis experience required.
Knowledge of product development and drivers of P & L and profitability.
Knowledge of disc drive and solid state drive technology a plus.
Experience defining technology requirements to deliver desired results.
Teaming and collaboration skills to influence cross-functional team, including experience working with Corporate Strategy, CTO, and Advanced Engineering functions
REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's Degree, MBA preferred or equivalent experience in product management and customer-driven innovation
10+ years experience in high-technology companies
At least 3 years (5 years preferred) experience in Strategic Product Management
At least 3 years (5 years preferred) experience in validating opportunities and product ideas, working across teams and developing product strategy within a framework (Pragmatic Marketing certification preferred).
At least 3 years (5 years preferred) experience with video capture and/ or surveillance products and solutions (Hardware, Software, Services)
At least 3 years experience working directly with customers
Readiness to travel 50% annually
