Position Summary

The Director will support the leadership team of the School of Public Policy to develop and implement communication strategies to broaden the impact of the School’s engagement programs globally.

Reporting to the Vice President, the candidate will be responsible for key areas such as (i) the creation and development of print (Thoughts & Trends newsletter) and online communication; (ii) Public Policy website management and content development; (iii) development of a learning portal for internal and external stakeholders; and (iv) development of the School’s look, tone and feel (LTF) for presentations and educational materials in alignment with the overall branding of the Public Policy Department and the company.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Vice President and senior leadership to develop communications strategies that will broaden programmatic reach and deepen impact of the school’s engagement education programs
Responsible for the creation of a School brand and the appropriate Look, Tone and Feel (LTF) to be used for all presentation materials, marketing visuals and on the Public Policy website. These need to be aligned with the branding for the overall Public Policy Department and complies with the organization’s branding guidelines.
Develop a strategy for the Public Policy website with the objective of generating an online community with our internal/external stakeholders
Develop and manage the website into an effective learning portal.
Manage the production of the “Thoughts & Trends” newsletter which includes coordinating with various contributors to the newsletters and ensuring that the publication complies with our corporate communication and brand guidelines and are distributed on a timely basis.
Identify appropriate opportunities to highlight the school’s work to broader internal / external audiences.

Qualifications

Hands-on individual, with strong interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and planning skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
The ability to work on multiple projects at one time with good attention to detail and accuracy
Good knowledge of marketing techniques and process good creative skills
Strong IT knowledge particularly in website development
Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital/social media
Demonstrates a collaborative and resourceful approach towards projects and has the ability to be independent as well as work within a team
Diploma/Degree in Marketing Communications/Marketing/Business Studies with minimum 8-10 years of relevant working experience
