Job description
IDA’s Engineering and Technology Group is seeking a Senior Technology Executive to oversee and manage the engineering teams that design, build, innovate and invent technologies needed for making Singapore the World’s first Smart Nation.

Responsibilities:
Leads the software and hardware technology development and engineering efforts of the Group
Drives the engineering team to invent, architect and build new capabilities
Fosters an innovative, high performing, and motivated culture through strong communication, planning and execution, teamwork and collaboration to build technical competency and expertise within the Group

Provide sound coaching, support and direction to the team to achieve high level technical excellence
Provides technical direction and leadership on technology issues; Performs technical risk assessments and ensures appropriate risk mitigation efforts are undertaken.
Delivers innovative technology milestones on time and ensures availability of technology tools for future technology differentiation and innovation
Involves in inventions, innovations and creation of prototypes to demonstrate proof-of-concepts
Organize technical meetings, scheduling technical tasks and hiring of technical engineers

Requirements:
Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering desired. High degrees such as Masters or PhD would be an advantage.
The ideal candidate is preferably at Chief Engineer level with technical leadership experiences
Experience in performing hardware and software engineering for the past 10 to 15 years in high-tech industries, preferably in the computing and telecommunication areas.
Familiar with core technologies such as virtualization, data analytics, sensors, smart homes, heterogeneous networks, security, smart cities, mobile networks, data centres, cloud, mobile applications and 5G.
Prior experience in supervising a large team of engineers/scientists in a lab or applied R&D setting
Must be an inventor, and be prepared to roll up his/her sleeves to work on engineering issues when needed
Must be able to pay attention to technical details and have deep passion for technology
Recognition in technical excellence via prestigious technical awards, product achievement awards, and society fellowships desired.
Excellent communication and organization skills; ability to interact with stakeholders and partners
Must have keen interest in new technologies and able to work with various groups, such as foresights and projects
