Job Description:
The Director, Risk Management is a hands-on leadership role within the Group Risk Management, and is responsible for the following functions:
Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery
Responsible for the implementation, training, testing and maintenance of Business Continuity, Business Recovery & Crisis Management framework across the Singtel Group and assisting the business units and functions in their accountability to ensure comprehensive and current BC&DRPs for the Group.
Develop strategic relationships at a senior level, both internally and externally, and for liaison with regulators and agencies, to ensure that the focus and strategy of the crisis management team is aligned with business requirements and that the Group complies with its statutory and governance requirements in relation to risk and BC&DRP matters, and protection of the Group’s critical infrastructure.
Group Insurance
Manage the Group’s insurance programme through an internal team supported by external brokers, to ensure adequate coverage of insurable risks in a cost efficient and effective manner.
Work with business units and functions to ensure appropriate risk mitigating measures are put in place. The insurance programme covers the entire Group and includes various policies like Property Damage / Business Interruption, Comprehensive General Liability, Professional Indemnity, Crime, Aviation Liability, Marine Cargo, Expatriate / Inpatriate, Travel, Motor Vehicle, Work Injury Compensation, Accidents, Employer Liability, Contractors / Erection All Risks, etc.
Governance Support
Provide governance support to the Risk Committee and Risk Management Committee and to put in place the policies and framework and necessary risk awareness programme (training, workshops, e-learning, etc.) to help cascade the Group’s risk philosophy and appetite and tolerance to various levels and functions.
Support the Board/Risk Committee (RC) in the oversight of the Group’s risks and mitigations, as well as the adequacy and effectiveness of the Group’s risk management and internal control system.
Desired Skills and Experience
Good degree in IT, Engineering, Finance, Business or any other relevant fields.
Certified BCM practitioner.
At least 15 years of insurance / risk management, consulting, or auditing work experience, including experience in business continuity planning.
Experience in working in challenging business environment with proven capabilities in organizing, summarizing and presenting complex information.
Advanced knowledge of risk management and control concepts, leading risk management practices and standards.
In-depth understanding of the telecommunications / ICT industry and the risks faced by the Singtel Group and its businesses.
Strong leadership and engagement skills with ability to manage across functions, levels, cultures and geographies.
Proven ability to liaise with relevant government agencies, intelligence and security agencies, to identify and address security issues and risks to the industry, and to the Group.
Proven ability to work with insurance brokers, insurers, loss adjusters / lawyers, relevant regulatory bodies, actuaries, external auditors, internal auditors, etc. to identify and address issues and risks relating to insurance.
