Position Summary

The position is part of the Emerging Products & Innovation (EP&I) function in Visa Asia Pacific. Within EP&I, the Mobile Solutions team is responsible for identifying new opportunities for mobile payments, creating customized strategies for Visa across diverse markets and delivering the capabilities required to capture these opportunities in one of Visa’s most dynamic and innovative regions. The Director for Mobile Solutions, Asia Pacific will lead mobile payments- related product initiatives in the region. The role holder must blend technical, business and product management skills to deliver results that will have a business impact within and beyond Asia Pacific region, contributing to the success of Visa’s mobile and digital payment initiatives.
The role spans product areas such as mobile contactless payments, mobile remote payments, and tokenization. In addition the role-holder is expected to contribute to the success of Visa’s digital payment solutions and related innovations in the AP region

Responsibilities

Product Development Lead. Working with mobile and digital payments colleagues in AP as well as in San Francisco, provide input to the product development process ensuring Visa AP requirements and interests are met. This will include reviewing draft technical specifications and product requirements and providing feedback on any necessary changes.
Program and Product Management. Working within AP region, provide support for coordinating the deployment of mobile payment solutions – with the associated contribution to Visa’s global success in the mobile channel.
Execution / Implementation. Support in-country teams as subject matter expert to assist with scoping, planning and implementation of mobile payment projects across Visa AP taking shared accountability for the success of in-market implementations and compliance with program rules.
Vendor Interaction. Working with global colleagues in Approval Services and Compliance, liaise with local vendors and vendors’ regional offices to help suppliers to understand Visa testing and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

Business or Engineering degree preferred – Masters degree is advantageous.
At least 10 years of working experience with min 5 - 8 years in mobile payment and/or smart card arena, preferably in product management roles.
3 - 5 years’ experience working within Asia an advantage
Knowledge and familiarity of NFC (Near Field Communication), mobile application development, web services, mobile handset architectures and smart card technologies
Strong ability to analyze technical specifications and explain complex technical concepts in simple language
Understanding of mobile payment platforms, services, and commercial models
Good analytical and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills – both written and spoken
Driven, self-starter
