Role Overview:

The management of operational risk is a key business priority for Nomura and is vital to the successful delivery of the firm’s strategy. The Asia ex Japan Operational Risk team has responsibility for the development and ongoing management of operational risk for the region, including:
Developing and deploying the operational risk strategy and governance framework in line with the Global operational risk management framework
Maintaining a set of operational risk products and services to support the business areas’ management of operational risk
Developing and managing the tools and templates to allow the effective collection, review and use of operational risk information
Working with Operational Risk Co-ordinators across the business to embed an operational risk culture throughout the organisation

To support delivery on these priorities, an opportunity exists for an Operational Risk Analyst to:
Support the Senior Operational Risk Managers and function head in facing the business and developing and deploying the Operational Risk framework, products and services
Take ownership of delivery of key business reports and relationships
Generate reports for local executive management and global ORM audiences
Develop relationships with local and regional stakeholders to promote ORM culture
Desired Skills and Experience
Have 3-5 years experience in a risk or control related function in financial services institutions or external audit firms covering markets businesses
Possess investment banking and / or capital markets knowledge and experience
Possess excellent written communication and IT skills to facilitate the generation of risk reporting
Display an ability to analyse business processes to determine areas of key risk and adequacy of design of associated internal controls
Strong verbal communication skills evidenced through a track record of influencing middle management stakeholders to address control deficiencies and do so with commerciality

Relevant investment and / or operational risk professional qualifications are an advantage but not a pre-requisite.
