Legal Director - APAC - Uber Technologies - Singapore
Job description
Uber is a Series C venture-funded startup headquartered in San Francisco, California. We are a game-changing company that allows users to request quality, on-demand car service with a touch of their smartphone. We are in over 62 + cities worldwide, including over 12 cities in the APAC region, with plans for rapid growth in the APAC region in the next two years. We are currently searching for a Legal Director, APAC with expertise in corporate, litigation and employment law to join the Uber Legal Team as we continue to scale our business globally. You will report directly to the General Counsel of Uber Technologies, Inc. and be based in our Singapore office.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Work closely with the General Counsel on general commercial transactions, employment and other business issues impacting the Uber entities in the APAC region.
Be an active partner to internal business groups on rolling out Uber’s business in APAC.
Be responsible for compliance with laws in each of the cities where the Uber App is available.
Research, review, and analyze legal risks for Uber International and its subsidiaries in APAC.
WHAT YOU ARE
Partner (8+ years) in a mid to large size law firm or Senior Counsel or Director (or equivalent) in house corporate legal department
Strong academic credentials and law degree from a top law school
Possess excellent business judgment, communication and interpersonal skills
Substantive knowledge and expertise in corporate matters
Enjoy working in a fast-spaced environment for a company with operations around the world
Fluent in written and spoken English; language skills in additional Asian languages preferred
