Position: Senior Project Manager

Organization Structure

Reporting to the Project Director or Delivery Manager, the incumbent may be required to manage project teams.

Job Dimensions

Provides project leadership, resources, and targets and ensures its successful implementation.

Major Responsibilities

Prepares the Project Charter whereby the goals, objectives, risks, assumptions organizational structure, staffing level, team members, roles and responsibilities, work breakdown structure, and deliverables are identified and defined.
Manages the overall Project and its activities and ensures that resources are available and channeled to produce the planned deliverables on time and within the approved budget.
Organizes the Project team into appropriate work groups and works closely with the Team Leaders to support and guide the entire Project team in their effort to achieve its business goals and produce deliverables within the specified time frames.
Coordinates and provides guidance regarding preparation, review and implementation of the Project.
Leads or supports interdisciplinary teams in preparing and developing project related documents.
Conducts stakeholder outreach and communication efforts related to the Project, including conducting public meetings, preparing notification letters and other documents and incorporating stakeholder input into the Project’s documents.
Provides input to the Project Director or Delivery Manager on short- and long-range planning efforts related to the Project.
Manages performance against expectations for Project team.
Establishes and implements a Project Communication Plan.
Establishes and implements a progress reporting mechanism to keep stakeholders informed.
Establishes and implements a Change Management program.
Mediates between Project participants in cases of disputes.
Monitors the Project Scope Management process. Ensures that an impact analysis of any change requests is completed. Ensures that change requests with a significant impact on the Project are brought forward to the Steering Committee for resolution.


Desired Skills and Experience

Ideal Person



Bachelor degree holder (any major) preferably with solid work experience on IT and/or SI project management
12 or more years of relevant experience.
Must be proficient in project management methodologies and tools (preferably MS Project)
Experience in managing systems development projects in the insurance industry is an advantage
Must read, write and speak fluent English.
