Industrial Hygienist - Shell - Singapore


Job description
The industrial hygienist is Bukom site's focal point for matters regarding industrial hygiene, as well as matters related to health and exposure monitoring.

Responsibilities
Deliver SLA (service level agreement) agreed services using standardised tools and processes.
Provide guidance on industrial hygiene for Bukom Manufacturing Site, such as hygiene monitoring strategies, methodology, training to comply with Shell corporate standards and local legislation, both within Bukom Manufacturing Site and to a lesser extent to Shell Businesses in Singapore.
Provide information, technical expertise and advice for corporate Health in formulation of policies, standards and guides both within Bukom Manufacturing Site and to a lesser extent to Shell Businesses in Singapore
Audit, conduct and review of health risk assessments.Participate in HSSE inspections, audits and committees.
Work with businesses to implement the Shell HSSE & SP Control Framework (the commitments & policies, standards and manuals), and related Group standards and processes in a cost-effective manner.
Assure quality of external hygiene consultancy and analysis services.
Conduct hygiene and exposure monitoring e.g. noise and chemical monitoring.
Requirements
Recognized certification in Industrial Hygiene practices e.g. Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) with the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) or its equivalent;
Degree in Engineering/Science (Chemical, Physics or Biology)/Nursing or Industrial Hygiene.
More than 4 years experience in comprehensive Industrial Hygiene practice with
Competency and significant exposure and experience, in carrying out risk assessment in a process industry
Competency in noise monitoring & noise control.
Competency in chemical management & chemical monitoring.
Able to carry out hygiene measurement independently. Able to interpret and determine the significance of monitoring data.
HSSE experience in management and registered as a Workplace Safety & Health Officer with the Ministry of Manpower, Singapore is an advantage.
Thorough understanding of local legislative requirements on workplace safety & health, and environmental standards.
