Job Description
As a key resource in the APJ team, the successful candidate will assist heavily in the development and ongoing support of the control environment in VMware's APJ operation\. \(Execution on business operations process based on Audit outcomes\)\. This role will work very closely with the APJ finance teams and may, from time to time, become involved with project based FP&A analysis and activities – such as the development of planning models for Emerging Markets\. The successful candidate in this role will also work very closely with sales, sales operations, regional legal, accounting, internal audit, deal desk, revenue and consulting / professional services personnel\. Key responsibilities will include: 1\. Undertake a range of activities in the APJ business operation to drive an enhanced control environment and compliance with VMware internal policies and guidelines\. 2\. Work with VMware Channel sales teams to ensure that Channel Partners are complying with transactional contractual obligations\. These would include: a\. Flowing down of VMware Terms &Conditions to end users b\. Providing and verifying sell through reporting as required 3\. Liaise with Regional Legal, Operations and Revenue Recognition to ensure that all staff / partners have received all necessary training


4\. Liaise with Internal Audit on activities pertaining to the Greater China business operation and act as a key “in field” contact resource 5\. May be required to assist with Regional Sales teams on the structuring of complex transactions to ensure: a\. Optimal transaction structures and hence best return for VMware b\. Compliance with VMware internal policies and external regulations\. 6\. Undertake post implementation reviews of large and significant transactions to review: a\. Actual transaction license deployment vs planned license deployment – particularly in “unlimited license” type transactions b\. Reviews of “Install Base” for pre\-existing customers c\. Ensure compliance with contractually agreed terms 7\. Work closely with Regional Consulting and Professional Services teams in areas such as: a\. Financial post implementation review of major engagements b\. Selection and qualification of sub\-contracting partners c\. Confirmation and review of project completion in conjunction with: i\. Regional Services business leadership ii\. Engagement managers iii\. End customer reviews where appropriate 8\. Provide advice to Regional and APJ Leadership on perceived process control weaknesses and appropriate remedial actions\. Required Qualifications; 1\. Degree qualified in finance or other appropriate business related discipline 2\. CPA, MBA qualifications highly desirable\. Relevant Experience and Skills: Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience in the IT market and in particular the software industry\. Expect 10 \(minimum\) years relevant industry experience\. A background in process design or internal audit would be considered favourably\. Ability to influence and build support for ideas is a key requirement\. The successful candidate will have strong business acumen, attention to detail, the ability to communicate effectively on different levels from the executive team to field personnel and back office staff, as well as the ability to develop succinct yet comprehensive business processes designed to drive an efficient and compliant business\.
