Job Description:
Responsible for leading a team of Managers involved in improving process, equipment, test and industrial engineering capabilities in order to support a manufacturing organization.
Principle Accountabilities:

Direct and control the activities of a broad functional area through several senior engineering leaders involved in activities related to all engineering capabilities and statistical process control systems.
Organize and lead Project/Program reviews to ensure projects are delivered on time, as per cost targets and within quality specifications.
Partner with other functional leaders to ensure all-engineering activities are well integrated with manufacturing operations. Approx. 1 – 6 plants.
Successfully guide and influence senior level management, executives and key clients in their decision input needs.


Provide guidance and feedback to subordinate leaders to ensure achievement of goals and objectives.
Plan, budget, and manage the process, equipment, test and industrial Engineering group costs in line with corporate objectives.
Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocation work stations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
Implement appropriate HR Strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.

Desired Skills and Experience
Education/Experience:

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training plus a minimum of 8 years of management experience and a total of min. 15 years of work experience in relevant engineering field. A Master’s or MBA degree is preferred.
Experience in managing a large team size approx. 500 people.
Must have experience in EMS, preferably PCBA in SMT environment.
Knowledge/ Skills / Abilities:

Speak Bahasa Malaysia, English and/or Chinese.
Demonstrates mastery of functional knowledge in relation to other functions and a complete understanding of the function and those of related businesses.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference to practical situations.
Ability to think strategically, define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
Scope / impact:

Impacts the long-term (annual) direction and financial or operational success of the function and/or site. Approves and/or creates functional processes or technologies.
Establishes and ensures effective achievement of functional strategic plans and objectives for the site. May have P&L responsibility for the function. Develops plans for structuring and implementing major initiatives.
Decision Making / Discretion:

Makes decisions for the function and the site. Decisions may affect site.
Supervision / Leadership:

Recognizes and develops talent as a key element of executing operational business plans. Ensures Flex values are part of site work life. Provides strategic leadership for the function and the site.
