Job Description
The team is responsible for strategic advisory for FIG clients in Asia, Middle East and Africa across
banks, insurance, asset management, securities brokerage and other FI sub-sectors, advising them
on M&A, capital restructuring and capital raising. The Senior Associate / Associate Director will get
exposure and opportunity to work on M&A, Corporate Advisory, and opportunistic Capital Markets
transactions with prominent FI clients
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Support senior bankers and lead key work streams on various aspects of client coverage, transaction origination and execution
Deal origination - Take charge of create marketing materials which include pitch books, handouts and research on topics of interest
Deal execution - Lead and / or support on different aspects of a deal, prepare relevant reports, support transaction structuring, research support and co-ordination with various parties in the deal team
Take charge of developing valuation models, transaction and trading comparables
Prepare and present information memoranda, pitch books, presentations, prospectuses, fairness opinion (including valuation) and other forms of reports
Client interaction / management
Leverage on understanding in the FIG regulatory environment, competitive landscape, key valuation drivers, methodologies and business models
Lead the maintenance of databases of relevant industry materials and monitor relevant news flow, key developments and trends in the industry, regulatory changes and other topics of Interest
To create and maintain essential team databases - transaction / trading multiples, profiles of potential M&A targets / acquirors, general industry knowledge
To assist on internal documents such as business reviews, account planning forums, deep dives, briefing notes and strategic themes, amongst others
Qualifications And Skills
Highly motivated individuals with 2-4 years experience in corporate and investment banking / corporate finance advisory, preferably in the FI sector
Ability to cope well under pressure
Superior analytical aptitude, creative problem solving abilities and working understanding of accounting principles
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to interact with clients, product partners, and regional relationship managers
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to articulate complex concepts
A team player with leadership potential, who works effectively with professionals across country, sector and product teams
