Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Singapore sourcing leader vis-à-vis direct material commodity management should include:
Contribute to development of and be an approver of Intermec Singapore direct materials sourcing strategy. U.S. based Sourcing team to be informed and consulted (as needed by business)
Negotiation with direct materials suppliers of key contractual terms ( i.e. , price, volume, specifications, delivery terms) for new contracts and amendments. For HSM-level supply contracts, participate in the negotiation of critical or important new contracts and amendments with direct material suppliers. If the APAC Sourcing Leader does not have SEA authority to execute such contracts, provide and document approval prior to execution by an authorized signatory. For direct materials contracts negotiated at the SBG level, aggregate demand and participate/represent HSM's interests in ACS-wide sourcing negotiations ( e.g. , in person in Phoenix, AZ). If direct materials procurement is part of Honeywell's e-auction system, this position should be responsible for defining the terms of the RFP and managing that process.
Approve and oversee activities of Singapore and non-Singapore based commodity managers as relevant to direct materials used to produce products sold by Intermec Singapore. Establish regular communication and review plans.
Direct and oversee the process by which the direct material managers develop KPI scorecards for each vendor.
Responsibility for daily roadblock report. Drive and participate in direct material commodity manager response to critical supply issues. Travel to supplier sites to monitor performance and address issues.
In conjunction with SQE personnel, manage supplier certification and acceptance process, selection of direct materials suppliers, and maintenance of approved vendor list.
Along with the commodity managers, serve as HSM's primary liaison to direct materials suppliers, lead strategic relationships with each direct materials supplier and act as a key HSM resource for communications with such supplier.
Monitor supply constraints, flag issues as they arise ( e.g. , shortage of critical materials) and drive corrective action (including site visits).
