Job description
Overview of the Role:

The responsibility of the Director of Investigations, Asia Pacific, China & Japan Regions, is to act as a confidential and impartial source of assistance in the resolution of employee work-related concerns. These concerns may pertain to the manager/employee relationship, interpretation, application, and/or compliance with Company policy, the Code of Conduct, and ethical issues arising from the Company's global operations and business strategies.

The Director of Investigations will report directly to the Executive Director, Global Investigations in the Office of Ethics. He/She will be responsible for conducting Tier 1 investigations and be the CoE point for Tier 2 investigation matters across the region, including training, a sounding board for regional and local investigations resources, and reviewing investigations data to identify trends and challenges.

The strongest candidates will have direct experience working on investigations and exposure to working in diverse, complex markets. A demonstrated ability to be diplomatic, culturally sensitive, firm and decisive, when necessary, is a key asset for the role.

Moreover, strong project management skills and the ability to plan, lead and conduct complex investigations personally are required for the role. The successful candidate will also have the demonstrated ability to analyze data and draw reasonable conclusions, communicate clearly, possess excellent writing skills and as a strong team player be able to work effectively with others at various levels of the organization. As the position requires working across various functions within the company (e.g., Compliance, Global Security, HR, Legal, Finance), demonstrated networking and influencing skills are required. The person must have the ability to travel across the region.

Desired Skills and Experience
Law Degree: Juris Doctor (J.D.) or (LL.B.) or equivalent required.
6-10 years of relevant Legal experience in investigations; experience as a prosecutor strongly preferred.
Strong substantive skills in Anti-Corruption (i.e., Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and other Anti-Corruption statutes).
Ability to communicate effectively about compliance requirements to business leaders and employees.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Experience in reporting to and interacting with senior individuals.
Excellent presentation, facilitation, networking and influencing skills.
Positive, collaborative attitude.
Ability to lead diverse, cross-functional project teams without direct reporting relationships.
