Expedia Lodging Partners Services (LPS) is responsible to build and develop relationships with hotels around the world to constantly align our product offering to our customers demand. With 150,000 hotels worldwide, including a strong footprint in Asia Pacific, LPS is driving innovation in the development and management of a highly complex and fast moving inventory.
To accelerate its success, Expedia Inc is looking to hire a strong project manager to drive and execute growth initiatives with our lodging partners in APAC and globally. The role is critical to realize our supply strategy moving forward.
The Senior Manager, Strategy & Business Development will be responsible for driving and executing strategic and tactical initiatives to achieve positive business impacts across Expedia Inc (EI) Lodging business. The person will act as a business partner to the Directors of Lodging Partner Services, in close coordination with EI brands, to develop and execute the business strategy. The primary focus will be on the APAC region: either leading the roll-out of global initiatives in the region or driving APAC-specific projects. Initiatives may include, for example, business model evolutions, improvement of demand-supply alignment, sales organization & processes optimization.
General Responsibilities
- Provide evaluation of identified strategic options and business opportunities, frame the identified opportunities into specific initiatives and obtains buy-in from stakeholders
- Work with business sponsors, product managers and other stakeholders to organize and schedule such initiatives
- Execute the business initiatives efficiently and effectively, in close collaboration with the brands and relevant teams of the Lodging Partner Services group
- In coordination with project team members manage the day-to-day details of project(s)
- Act as the change engine for the Lodging business, ensuring innovations / developments are led to successful implementation
- Work closely with the brands to ensure alignment on efforts and prioritization of resources
- Act as the voice of the Market Management (MM) organization for EI projects impacting the Lodging business, ensuring input and feedback from the MM organization is well captured and integrated
- Monitor the business impacts of initiatives
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of products and markets and build strong relationships with applicable regional leadership teams
Requirements
- 6-8 years of experience, preferably with strong management consulting background, MBA a plus
- Sales operations and process management experience preferred
- Advanced level competencies across problem solving skills, result-oriented, appetite for business impact / execution, drive and influence
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organization skills, and ability to manage multiple projects / responsibilities in a fast moving organization - change orientated environment
- Self-motivation and ability to executive projects till success
- International experience / cultural sensitivity
