Sr. Director - Prepaid Products - South East Asia - Visa - Singapore
Job description
Position Summary
To lead the strategy, business planning, product development, product road maps, infrastructure development, program management, business development, sales support, marketing and distribution of Visa Prepaid products in SEA (including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar). A primary focus is to engage key stakeholders to develop and implement agreed strategic initiatives of the prepaid portfolio and provide market and client support related to prepaid consulting.
Responsibilities
1. Plan and implement an aggressive business development effort for Visa Prepaid programs, in co-ordination with Country Teams and the Regional teams. Special requirement would be to develop detailed product road maps including clients and partners to build up the programs, card numbers and volumes, to achieve the business revenue targets.
2. Business development effort involving identification of opportunities in conjunction with Country Teams, building the sales pitch subject matter expertise, and deal support. In certain cases, this may involve supporting Country and Risk teams to bring on non-bank partners as clients or structuring complementary alliances between clients and payment vendor partners. Facilitate endorsement of policy initiatives at the VORC, Visa Advisory councils, APLT and PMT, as required.
3. Support country management target planning for cards, PV, TV, issuance mandates and net revenue objectives for prepaid products. Identification of prepaid opportunities, working with partners and clients to develop appropriate prepaid solutions pitch preparation and delivery, contract negotiation and relationship-building with key clients / partners.
4. Develop project plans and AOP budget to launch new prepaid programs and monitor project implementations and provide support as necessary while ensuring that Visa’s minimum and mandatory product and audit requirements are met.
5. The implementation and launch of projects arising from “done “ deals by co-coordinating efforts of Country, Client Services, Marketing and Risk and in close co-ordination with internal teams.
6. Manage live programs, through frequent client meetings, market visits, and performance monitoring and grow volumes and revenues through effective marketing, research, and product enhancement interventions.
7. Collect and communicate the results of these programs through compelling presentations, portfolio reviews, case-studies and research reports to clients and internally..
8. Manage the compliance with Prepaid Product Guidelines and rules and PIF management, working with CSS, Risk and Product Management colleagues.
9. Provide feedback and inputs to Product Hub, Interchange, Finance and Risk teams to modify or develop new rules and guidelines, pricing, VisaNet enhancements that make these products more relevant to market needs.
10. Monitor competitive activities and recommend appropriate action from Visa.
11. Employee management including regular performance reviews, annual reviews, mentoring, coaching, performance management, T&E management. Identifying additional resource needs and building the business case to support.
Qualifications
Professional
• Tertiary qualification in Business Management or Finance/ Accounting
• Approximately 10-12 years of working experience of which 6 to 8 years should be in financial institutions or payments industry, preferably in the prepaid business.
• Knowledge of Visa, while not a pre-requisite would be of added value. Advanced professional degree (e.g. MBA),
Technical
• Proficient at MS Office.
• Understanding of KYC / AML / Prepaid regulations and risks.
• Understanding of VisaNet, VIOR, Visa fees and interchange
• Good awareness of Visa’s compliance framework
Business
• Experience with complex sales/ business development within the financial industry
• Self-driven and goal-oriented.
• Advanced analytic skills, numerate, excellent communication skills
• Effective in matrix structure and able to use informal networks within to achieve results.
