Regional Business Operations Manager - APAC - Microsoft - Singapore

Role Purpose
The Regional Business Operations Manager plays a key role for ICE (Information and Content Experiences) by providing strategic leadership, business planning, business analysis, coordination and execution of programs and initiatives on behalf of the Business Group, as well as playing a crucial role in developing communication across relevant stakeholders.

This role partners closely with the market, the Regional Executive Producers and the Intl and US Business Operations Managers, to ensure operational and organizational priorities are effectively implemented in a timely manner, allowing high quality execution against business plans and the achievement of the strategic mission and vision of the organization.

The position will report to the Regional Executive Producer, Asia, and will have primary responsibilities for managing rhythm-of-business processes, business planning, management processes, providing key insights to business performance and initiatives and leading specific strategic business projects.

Key Accountabilities
Business Management
With the support of the International Business Management team, plan, coordinate and run the Rhythm of the Business (ROB) to optimize leadership effectiveness, customer and employee connections, and to support efficient operations across the region. Ensure decision makers possess timely and correct information required to execute strategy. Monitor financial health of markets, ensure early identification of issues, and work with others to understand causes and get markets back on track
Partner closely with International Business Operations team, HR, Finance, A&O, ICE business, product management and the business management community for effective coordination of business across all markets.
Serve as a communications hub for all players in markets and across the region regarding financial and operational issues
Implement internal communications plans for the region in conjunction with the central Business Operations team
Monitor business performance and prepare all MBR documentation and calls on behalf of EP, synthesizing MBR data into a coherent narrative
Go to person for all things financial; running numbers and preparing financial decks for MBR, QBR, MYR
Initiate communications for discrepancies, anomalies, and implications including ROI for all markets.
Own, with the regional Business Analyst, data analysis, and work with local markets to support their data gathering & analysis. Ensure up-to-date forecasts for all markets.
Partner with A&O on monetization, especially with respect to proposed deals and partnerships.
Work with REP, LT,& local markets to build business plan to execute on strategy

Regional LT Team Support
Co-ordinate and drive effectiveness of ICE regional team and support Regional Executive Producer in all business aspects.
Provide support and input to regional Executive Producer on all business issues, including all necessary financial and data analysis to help define strategy. Serve as an informed voice and sounding board for the EP.
Manage the region on a day-to-day basis from a business point of view.
o Drive the agenda of regional calls & meetings
o Own direct comms with local EPs and BizOps
o Run market call-downs, and represent REP in his/her absence
o Ensure the REP is fully briefed before MBR and other financial calls
Ensure field is aligned to goals set and is executing as planned.

Project Management
In conjunction with Regional Executive Producer, lead key strategic business projects, and drive implementation of global initiatives in the region.
Project manage a wide range of market and regional initiatives, such as A&O collaboration, tool migration for off-platform markets, and rollout of new products
Operational responsibility for launching new markets, growing existing markets and shutting down non-performing markets across the region.
create business cases for new initiatives, partnerships and cross-product collaborations
Oversee strategic projects on behalf of EP, including project management of x-network initiatives

Coaching & Mentoring
Grow the business acumen & encourage entrepreneurial spirit of market EPs, and provide support and guidance to market BOMs where needed.
Mentor market Executive Producers in financial, operational and business discipline
Support Regional Executive Producer in ensuring a dedicated BOM owner is in place in each market
Participate in driving best practice sharing and rollout initiatives
Work with market BOMs to increase their capacity and streamline processes wherever possible

Key Success Criteria
Smooth and efficient running of all financial documents, calls and events (ROB, MYR, MBR, PRISM etc)
Up-to-date financial analysis and forecasts for all markets, and clear understanding and communication of issues and anomalies
Regional EP and other decision makers are fully briefed and possess timely and correct information required to execute strategy.
Field is aligned to goals set and is executing as planned.
Market and regional initiatives and cross-market projects are implemented smoothly and consistently across the region
A thriving and proactive regional BOM community
An increased awareness of financial, operational and business discipline amongst market EPs

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
1) Essential Experience
Demonstrated business acumen. Ability to articulate and execute corporate strategy
In-depth knowledge of media, online and business landscape, in the region.
Strong leadership skills, with ability to manage in a complex matrix environment, leading, motivating and driving teams towards action/execution through influence and collaboration
Strategic planning abilities and strong project management skills, with proven ability to execute on strategic initiatives and drive complex cross-regional projects to successful completion.
Skilled at building solid relationships and capable of accomplishing objectives working with individuals in multiple roles and at multiple levels of authority either in country or across borders
Skills in problem resolution, team building, negotiation, dealing with ambiguity, budgeting, setting up effective processes, tracking results and decision support systems
Proven communications skills as well as the ability to build a strong virtual team
Good financial awareness & ability to demonstrate understanding of KPIs, budgets & P&Ls with focus on online KPIs (PV, UU, Visits, Monetization, Revenue measurement etc)

2) Technical/Functional Skills
Quantitative skills - web analytics, Excel modeling (sensitivity analyses, business cases, ROI analyses)
Analytical skills - making sense of data, challenging data, coming up with the story behind the numbers
Presentation skills - ‘sliding’, effective presentation and communication of ideas/ concepts to get senior stakeholders’ buy-in

4) Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with significant experience including financial responsibilities within a high tech, online, or mobile company
MBA a plus.
Excellent command of English as first or second language;

Any experience in Asia is a plus.
