Director - NSW Trade & Investment - Australian Trade Commission - Singapore

Job description
Austrade is seeking an experienced professional to promote New South Wales (NSW) capabilities in priority sectors (Financial/Professional Services, Advanced Manufacturing and ICT), attract and facilitate investment in new or expanded operations in New South Wales, and support NSW exporters seeking to expand internationally.
This position, located at the Australian High Commission in Singapore, will play a key business development role in delivering Austrade’s and NSW’s Trade & Investment strategy.
As a member of the Austrade Singapore team, you would undertake the following activities:


Identify productive FDI projects and leads for the NSW economy;
Identify opportunities for priority industries/markets for NSW export ventures;
Develop extensive in-market networks;
Maximise impact and results of NSW activities such as trade missions, market visits and international events.

You should be a good networker and enjoy engaging with Singaporean and Australian contacts in the market, working directly with industry stakeholders including government officials and industry representatives to gather market intelligence, identify new investment opportunities and provide professional advice to NSW businesses on market conditions, market entry strategies, potential partners and the Singapore regulatory environment.

This position requires a tertiary degree combined with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a business development or related role, preferably in an international environment. In particular, industry knowledge of NSW Trade and Investment’s priority sectors would be highly regarded.
You should be fluent in both spoken and written English, with well-developed research, analytical, marketing and communications skills.
