Director - Instinet - Nomura - Singapore

Responsibilities:

Work closely with front office leaders to provide operational support to the business.
Day to day local management of IT, Finance, Compliance and Operations teams
Main point of contact for regulatory engagement with MAS and SGX
Working with Asian COO to ensure that the Singapore entity continues to run smoothly.
Working with Compliance officer advising business personnel on latest regulatory developments, new rules and regulations which affect their business;

Coordinating with Legal, Management, Product teams, Operations, Finance, IT and other areas to ensure the appropriate controls and policies and procedures are in place for current and new businesses;
Establishing and enhancing policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements and firm policy; assisting in updating existing compliance policies and procedures;
Handling regulatory inquiries, examinations and audits.
Participating in related industry practice groups

Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements:

5 years direct experience in business management/COO/Risk or Compliance of Equities
Good knowledge of regulatory requirements in Singapore. Some exposure to those in Asia ex-Japan jurisdictions relating to Equities business, e.g. India, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, etc is an advantage, but not essential.
History and experience of dealings direct with MAS and SGX a plus.
Excellent negotiating, language and inter-personal skills; should be a solutions driven.
Confident, highly motivated and organized team player with impeccable integrity; should possess excellent issue spotting, analytical and resolution of conflicts skill
University Degree minimum
Should be able to act decisively and independently in situations requiring quick analysis.
