Senior Director - Software Development - Visa - Singapore

Position Summary

Reporting to Visa’s VP of Loyalty, the Senior Director, Loyalty Product Development position is responsible for developing and executing a shared strategic vision for Loyalty applications and products that enable Visa to be the world-leading data-driven payments company. The successful candidate will have a ground floor opportunity to build and manage all aspects of the Loyalty Product Development function in Singapore. This is an opportunity to be part of a large scale tech transformation taking place at Visa.


The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to lead, recruit, grow and retain high-caliber data talent at scale. Demonstrated ability to partner with business and technology stakeholders to deliver data-driven products is required.

Experience in building and delivering mission-critical data-driven systems such as for targeting, recommendations and segmentation in an industry such as Ad-tech, Internet or Payments is required. The candidate must have experience with construction and delivery of systems with requirements of high availability and tight response time at large scale. Familiarity with systems challenges and trade-offs in constructing distributed systems on commodity hardware and open-source technologies such as Hadoop is required. Experience must include data processing in real-time and batch including data cleaning, transformation, modeling, and scoring.

Depth of computer science knowledge in algorithms, data and construction of software systems is required. Experience in constructing systems that incorporate predictive decisions using adaptive machine learning is critical.Demonstrated success in building partnerships with other technology functions such as operations, security and data sciences is required.

Experience in one or more dimensions such as managing teams across multiple locations, building out new locations, orchestrating technology change in mission-critical systems, fostering agile product development or fostering innovation are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Lead, recruit, grow and retain high-caliber data talent at scale
Ensure excellence in delivery to internal and external customers
Build vision and roadmap for loyalty working with stakeholders across Visa
Successfully build and manage a team optimizing across multiple vectors of change such as technology migration, location rationalization, in-sourcing and process changes while ensuring business delivery
Foster innovation and leverage new technologies
Champion culture changes needed to recognize and manage data as a first-order business asset
Build partnerships with internal stakeholders across Visa.
Build deep partnerships with decision sciences, product management, and technology leaders
Contribute to building Visa’s technology brand through internal and external initiatives

Qualifications

In this role, the Senior Director of Loyalty Product Development need deep technical experience combined with strong leadership capabilities. Specific qualifications include:
MS in Computer Science or closely related discipline, required.
12+ years’ experience, with 5+ years in leadership roles in an organization driving data focused products
Strong leadership and communication skills
Expertise with large-scale data technologies
Experience managing and working with geo-distributed team
Experience in payments or related industry is a plus but not required
