As our Director, Transport Solution Design, APAC you will be championing:

Utilizing existing and step change technology effectively in transport solutions
To be engaged and work closely with key countries and their customers on:
Detailed Transport solution design at an opportunity stage, implementation and existing solutions that require optimization.
Approval of proposed solutions that reach an agreed value or complexity rating
Fleet asset specification and management
Supporting transport vendor procurement exercises
In addition the challenges in this role will be:
Support in-country transport teams and share best practice across APAC (collective innovation)
Lead Transport solutions where demand or complexity required
Specialized modeling & design capability (Network design, routing, fleet sizing, costing)
Reengineering of unprofitable operations
Provision modeling and analytical analysis for solutions and implementation
Champion level status and coaching of others in routing and planning software solutions.
Makes judgment/decisions to prevent delays in program schedules and moderate expenditure of resources to rectify
Skills transfer, training and on-going development for in-country teams which includes standardizing transport solutions, design and costing approach across the region
Incorporate transport systems (TMS, Hand held devices, telematics etc.) effectively into Transport Solutions.
Working with procurement to create RFQ’s for existing or new outsourced transport solutions targeting innovation, rationalizing of costs and vendors.
Lead diverse teams across multiple country/ cultures
Awareness of Diversity of culture / countries across APAC
Support for countries when implementing change for customers
Key activities with internal/external customers:
Engage and work closely with APAC Transport on how to implement strategic objectives through transport solutions
Engage and work closely with APAC BD on proposing transport solutions at a country level. Engage and work closely with country teams in the pursuit of new business, operational implementations and re-engineering initiatives
Collect and analyze data relating to logistics operations using off the shelf and built for purpose modeling tools.
Clearly outline solutions in appropriate formats for presentation to internal / customers. Participate in customer presentations where required
Provide analytical support for contract implementation and ongoing contract development.
Actively seek to understand and apply innovation be it fleet, technology or safety to solutions
Develop and maintain good and effective team communication at all levels.
Key activities within functional process will be:
To have knowledge of multiple transport products, competent in transport solutions design and sector-specific skills/tools
Collect and collate data relating to transport operations and facilitating the transfer of best practice across the region from personal experience or experience within DHL from all theatres
Adhere to the requirements of country, regional and DHL corporate policy directives at all times
Identify requirements for, and develop appropriate proprietary tools to support the solution design process where required; e.g. Transport Cost Model etc.
Drive the transport solution strategy and agenda across multiple countries and team
Develop and carry-out training programs that support the development of core and specialist solution design competencies across the region (i.e. Transport Solution Design Training), whilst ensuring training is embedded and continuously developed to match skills development in country.
Desired Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will have the following experiences and competencies:
10 years logistics solution design experience and/or in logistics operations management in transport or warehousing
Freight management / Logistics operations experience in multiple countries in APAC region
Consulting experience will be advantageous
Transportation, logistics and broader supply chain knowledge at a detailed level.
Must have exposure to modeling of complex domestic transport network, logistics / transport operations, etc
Experience in at least one modeling / simulation tool
An advanced user of tools such as Microsoft Excel to perform complex data analysis
Should be proficient in PowerPoint and have experience with customer presentations / public speaking
Written and spoken English
