Job description
Reporting to the VP Finance APAC, the Finance Director - East Asia overall responsibility is to provide Finance Business Partnering support to the Business and Finance Community within the East Asia (EA) Region.
He/She will provide proactive leadership of the finance function and be a member of the cluster leadership team. Be a trusted advisor to the Cross functional cluster leaders and country MDs / FDs and help drive financial strategies and initiatives that add value across the business.
Also included in the position is to lead and manage robust Financial planning, analysis and forecasting process for the country & Cluster, as well as to ensure that all regional/global deadlines are met.

East Asia (Cluster)
Brings to Cluster Management, Sector Management and Corporate a regular true and fair view of Cluster activity (monthly/yearly closing, budgets and forecasts),
Assists and advises the Cluster Management Committee for all financial matters relative to the Cluster. Supports, challenges and monitors the Cluster objectives through production of complete Cluster financial results and businesses performance analysis, including appropriate KPIs.
Ensures that all operational managers in the Cluster (Site M Ds through Site Controllers, Country MDs through Country FDs, Customer Directors and Project Managers through Senior Project Controllers) get the adequate support from the Finance Organization.
Drive overall project portfolio of the cluster through the Project controllers. Possess a business acumen to professionally and diligently challenge assumptions and the outcomes of the Project Reviews.
Manages directly all Sites through Country FDs or as necessary, directly.
*EA covers Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan and Korea, being active countries in scope, with other greenfield opportunities. This cluster excludes Australia.

Ensuring compliance with local accounting & tax regulations (statutory), Group accounting standards and Internal Control rules & principles.

To be considered for this role, candidate need to be able to demonstrate the following skills experience and attributes:
The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills and thorough exposure to the business partnering and bring at least 10 years of relevant experience
Proven experience working in a senior finance role across the Asia / Asia-Pacific region is a pre-requisite
Proven financial control, risk management & compliance experience, coupled with the ability to act as a commercial business partner to the business. Experience working with senior management and previous experience of remote management preferred
Prior experience in sponsoring/ being part of SAP implementation is preferred
Good communication skills. Able to build and maintain relationships with other stakeholders and operate within a team environment. Able to constructively challenge others
Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
