Job Purpose:
The Director shall support the CEO in specific projects on innovation and technology commercialisation. The Director shall also develop initiatives in innovation, IP management as well as commercialisation.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Lead in consultation with the CEO to Develop, direct and refine strategic plans and policies on IP management to achieve licencing goals and objectives. This will include:
a) Policies and processes for invention disclosures, patenting and licensing
b) promote awareness of the University’s intellectual property.
· Foster strong ties and develop outreach programmes for TTOs
· Develop training programmes to share tech transfer best practice with other TTOs
· Develop strategies for the commercial potential assessment and feasibility studies of NUS IPs, including Technology Readiness Level assessment for specific programs
Requirements:
· Degree in law from a reputable university
· More than 15 years of working experience in a senior management level position of which a minimum of 10 years in a technology transfer organization
· Demonstrated significant track record of developing and executing new initiatives, securing funding, closing deals and fostering innovation
· Experienced in evaluating legal matters involving business and commercialization of technology opportunities
· Strong networks and connections in the technology transfer field; and experience in organization of technology transfer
