Overview:

LEGO has been established in Singapore with a sales organization since 1979 but has been sold in the market for a longer period.

The organization consists today 9 positions (excl head of Singapore position): 1 Key Account Manager, 1 Account Manager, 1 Assistant Account Manager, 1 Marketing Position, 1 Trade Marketing/In Store Manager, 1 Sales Executive, 2 Merchandiser and 1 Account Coordinator. We expect this to grow with 1-2 positions over the coming years to support the ambition level for the business development.

The LEGO mission in Singapore is to continue and accelerate the establishment of the LEGO brand as a premium substance brand which is the authority in childrens play and learning. This will be achieved by establishing strong market knowledge, strong local Singapore team, strong relations to the retailers and strong connection with the global and regional LEGO network.

The journey for Singapore the coming years is to be part of building Asia as the 3rd core market for LEGO which mean long term sustainable initiatives and action plans. Manage and develop local team to create a strong capability and scalability team for executing BU plan in sales, marketing and operation.

The situation for LEGO in Singapore is for the right person a very motivated challenge – the focus the coming years will be both around building a winning and professional team while also take the brand presence to the next level building further on brand recruitment and a premium brand position in the toy category and overall market.

Success for the role as head of Singapore on the organization will be to develop a team that is motivated and commercial strong in building and executing marketing and sales plans. There will be a high degree of focus on personal development in the team and building competences across marketing, sales and operation while also the soft part around building a culture of consistently striving for the best quality in what we do will be crucial.

Success for the role is also to be a strong member of the KSEALT and rolemodel a strong integration and alignment with regional office in Singapore and other local LEGO offices in the KSEA region.

Success is to establish a sustainable growth platform for the LEGO brand and business growth in Singapore not only on the short term but on the long term.

Recap of main focus areas in the role:
- Sales and marketing plans build on fact based intelligence and strong execution under the global and regional brand strategy
- Build up the local insights (market, customer, consumer and shoppers) and activate in decision making and running the business
- Build and manage successful working relationships and solid partnership with retailers
- Build up a winning team with strong capabilities and competence on Sales, Marketing and the LEGO Value Chain.
- Role model and embed HR processes and the LEGO way of working and leading
- Report to General Manager KSEA and join the KSEA LT

Core Accountabilities:

- Under the company and regional brand objectives to formulate market business planning and execute the company strategies to maximize business growth and brand penetration in the Singapore market.
- Work with regional financial team on the financial process, develop market budget, allocate and spend as according to the budget plan to drive the target profitability
- Leading the local sales team to build a strong distribution network for an qualitative retail and wholesale expansion plan in the Singapore market
- Develop a strong partnership with local Key Accounts, guidance on Key Account Manager to build up and to execute the customer business plan which offer the best customer value propositon to customer, build up strong partnership and continuous improvement in customer scorecard
- Coordinate the integration between KSEA & local mktg. team to align and to build up year marketing plan according to the regional marketing objectives, strategies, priorities and guidlines to achieve defined marketing objectives on build brand awareness, active share and consumer engagement.
- Build up the integration and liaison with regional hubs on information flow and process,
- Collect local CS trend and market insight and share with regional team to drive better direction and strategy to act in local
- Work with the regional operation team to ensure the best supply value proposition to customer with continuous improvement on forecast accuracy and inventory control according to the consumer demand in the market
- Build up the local team, acting as a role model and looks for ways to continuously developing the team competence, people development and organization health to achieve the long term business goal
- Actively engages the team to develop plans and resolve issues through collaborative problem solving
- Secure employee motivation as regards positive attitudes and high performance with a work life balance
- Input to HR for people processes to assess employee’s potential and overall performance for merit increase, employee individual development plan and talent build up
Desired Skills & Experience

- Minimum 10+ years' working experience and a strong track record on business performance and leadership in Singapore or related market in senior position within sales or marketing (preferable in FMCG or highly competitive industries)
- Must have experience from working internationally or with international companies/brands
- Must have past experience with P&L responsibility and longer term planning (able to work with a 3 year planning horizon)
- Previous leadership experience and track record with building teams and capabilities
- Must have a commercially mindset and as a person be persistent and have a high drive/can-do mentality and a high degree of self-motivation.
- Must have a strong passion for working cross functionally (sales, marketing, operation and leadership) and embed the full responsibility of running the LEGO business in Singapore
-Must have strong communication skills and be able to work according to the LEGO Brand Framework
- Min Master Degree holder on marketing, business or other related discipline
- Proven track record in past job for team management and business growth
- Excellent in both written and spoken English and Mandarin.
- Basic PC knowledge, SAP
- Frequent oversea travel needed
