Job Description

ADZ is seeking an exceptional Algorithm Design Engineer to take a technical leadership role for the development of bidding and performance optimization algorithms for intelligent digital ad serving systems. The candidate will have extensive experience in object oriented programming, algorithm development, data analytics, as well as knowledge of bidding systems and auction economics. In addition, the candidate will possess good communication and presentation skills, an open and collaborative attitude, and the ability to deliver consistently on aggressive deadlines. The candidate will leverage existing experiences, knowledge, tools, and techniques to solve complex problems with simple solutions. Working in a small team as well as independently, the candidate will be given high levels of autonomy but expected to deliver quality work in a timely fashion.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and optimize learning algorithms for sophisticated digital advertising platforms
• Leverage large data sets to produce data visualization reports in order to gain insights on underlying ad exchange auction mechanics
• Clearly document design approach and solutions

Desired Skills & Experience

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience, with a Master's degree preferred in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Economics
• Significant experience in algorithm design, particularly in developing learning algorithms using system feedback to minimize prediction errors
• Experience implementing algorithms in large, scalable, web-based systems
• Strong Object-oriented programming skills, preferably in J2SE
• Experience analyzing large data sets
• Strong communications skills and a collaborative attitude
• Clear, honest, and transparent communication with co-workers is a must

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with data visualization tools
• Strong background in web technologies and SOA
• Database design experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Experience with Linux/UNIX
• Experience with AWS/EC2
• Knowledge of 2nd price auctions and real-time bidding systems
• Knowledge of DoubleClick, Google Analytics, comScore, and/or comparable solutions
