Director - Logistics - Merck - Singapore

Job Description

You will be accountable for all Logistics processes and activities across all Divisions in South Asia sub-region. South Asia geography includes Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. This position is critical to envisioning, creating and sustaining business performance excellence in Global Logistics and overall Supply Chain Management. Incumbent is accountable for the cross-coordination and collaboration with customers and senior management at both the Country and site levels. Provides expert advice and counsel to all Divisions and levels within Merck in order to assure the most effective use of company resources while maintaining/improving customer satisfaction, profitability, asset utilization, quality and safety of daily operations. The incumbent provides functional leadership and direction to all country Logistics personnel in the sub-region and is responsible for approximately $5 million in logistics spend, about 40 personnel, about 20 warehouse operations (Merck owned or third party providers), as well as supporting $500 million in sales. As part of the Asia Pacific Logistics Leadership team, the incumbent will develop and implement global and regional initiatives which ensure alignment with overall Merck strategy and deliver cost effective, compliant operations. This position provides for the delivery of short and long range business planning, resource planning and business performance management (e.g. metrics, operations reviews, and process control).

Desired Skills & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or Science is required.
Minimum 10 years of Logistics or supply chain experience (in pharmaceutical industry would be an advantage)
Strong stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills, as well as good teamwork are critical success factors.
Demonstrated leadership & people management skills across boundaries and building effective cross-cultural teams are essential.
