Director of Corporate Communications, Asia-Pacific

The Director of Corporate Communications, Asia-Pacific will focus on building brand awareness and driving thought leadership programs throughout Asia-Pacific. The candidate will lead media relations, in targeted Asia-Pacific countries aligned with Juniper business strategy. The Director of Corporate Communications, Asia-Pacific will oversee direct report(s) and the global public relations agency teams in region. Working with the agency and acting as the corporate lead in APAC, the Director will be responsible for outcomes implemented at local levels that align with corporate initiatives.

Responsibilities:

The Director must possess the interpersonal skills, confidence and credibility required to lead through influence and interact with executive management, sales, product management, product marketing and spokespeople worldwide, specifically:

Develop and support APAC-specific communication strategy that protects and enhances Juniper’s reputation connecting Juniper’s innovations to market trends and rapidly changing customer requirements.
Foster positive relationships with journalists (business and trade) and industry bloggers that cover Juniper Networks.
Establish and maintain global public relations standards, policies and processes in alignment with corporate marketing and communications best practices.
Manage a distributed global team and provide day-to-day operational guidance. Effectively manage PR agency relationships to specified goals and objectives.
Interface with a diverse group of business leaders and functions, including marketing, legal, sales and investor relations to develop consistent, authentic and impactful PR content.
Support and ensure close alignment between PR and demand gen programs running across Juniper’s key APAC markets
Provide strategic communications counsel and support to the SVP of Juniper APAC and the APAC leadership team.

Qualifications and Experience

Proven experience as a public relations manager/director within a dynamic and high-growth $1B+ technology company along with 10+ years of experience in communications, business and technology.
Demonstrated ability to work in a flat matrixed organization to reach agreed upon outcomes.
Strong a sense of urgency and capable of understanding how to operationalize a plan as well as anticipate potential problems and produce contingency plans.
Leadership skills to influence head of business units are essential.
Experience in developing and managing program metrics.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across the company, including senior leadership.
Exceptionally strong writing and storytelling skills.
Proven track record for designing, implementing and measuring communication strategies and plans at the global level.
Ability to influence priorities/decisions at the highest leadership levels.
Ability to meet tight deadlines and balance multiple priorities, while reliably executing on deliverables, crisis management experience is a plus.
Ability to work collaboratively in a geographically-dispersed, global organization.
Strong analytical thinking, intellectual curiosity and tenacity.
Superior project management and organization skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Fluency in English; Mandarin a bonus
Bachelor degree required, advanced degree a plus.
