Director - Innovation Engagement - Visa - Singapore
Position Summary
Visa’s Innovation & Strategic Partnerships (I&SP) is a global client facing organization that sets Visa’s public innovation agenda, develops commercial partnerships with industry leading brands and platform providers, and promotes hands on incubation and rapid prototyping to demonstrate the art of the possible for clients and partners. I&SP runs innovation centers in various regional offices, this function focuses on Visa’s Asia Pacific region and includes major markets such as Australia, Singapore, Japan, China, India, Indonesia, Thailand among others.
The Director - Innovation Engagement for Visa brings a deep passion for technology and payments, a futurist view, ability to understand and capture trends in their respective industries and broad understanding of (or aptitude for) Visa’s capabilities and assets. Co-creation will be enabled by synchronizing various Visa core assets (e.g. Visa APIs), new products (e.g. Visa Services), new environments (e.g. Mobile apps, Connected Cars, etc.) and innovations in the ecosystem driven by start-ups.
The Director – Innovation Engagement will support various key operational initiatives including developing of the Visa innovation narrative, discovering and cataloging Visa assets that support the innovation agenda, enabling content and education to support various discussions and brainstorming (e.g., innovation workshops and panels, client brainstorming sessions) and fleshing out the innovation delivery methodology. The individual will be work with various stakeholders within the group as well as broadly within Visa to execute on his/her deliverables.
He/she will bring a mix of skills across strategic thinking, analysis, written communication and active participation in meetings. He/she will work with minimal guidance in a fast paced, ambiguous work environment, and will have the ability to independently translate high level guidance into detailed deliverables. He/she will demonstrate good interpersonal skills and executive presence.
Responsibilities
Analyze landscape in one or more innovation focus areas (e.g. internet of things) to identify market segments, key themes, key players, etc.
With guidance, manage outreach to select companies in fintech to drive collaboration/engagement
Prioritize across multiple work streams with guidance of Director/Sr. Director, highlighting plan, risks and dependencies
Execute assigned practice management activities (profiling key technologies/start-ups,
Work with Innovation Designers to identify the right themes, partners and user experiences to rapidly prototype
Work closely with Innovation solution designers and teams of UI/UX specialists to convert use cases to demonstrable prototypes
Actively monitor developments in payments and commerce, specifically within one of the innovation focus areas; develop opinions/ideas on their implications for Visa and innovation
Qualifications
At least 5 years in a product management or consulting/investment banking role
Experience evaluating a technology landscape, preferably within payments and commerce
Passion for technology, futurist view and intellectually curious
Experience working in project-driven environments
