Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated and super creative product design expert with proven experience in developing products from concept through production working with internal teams and licensee partners.
The Creative Director will play an integral role in leading the design, development and approval of world-class merchandise for Southeast Asia. He/she will be responsible for providing creative input into product design, development and approval for other toys categories where required.

Actively drive all aspects of Product Development – from trend research, to product strategy, product conceptualizing, design direction, to final product approvals.

Execute the Global Creative and Brand Initiatives at the regional level.
Communicate with US HQ; work closely with global creative team, organizing meetings to determine what portfolios need to be done by season.
Envision and lead design/business initiatives including design programs and product concepts for Southeast Asia within our new Global strategy
Develop outstanding, innovative ideas, communicate concepts and manage product development through to manufacturing working closely with development partners.

Manage the quality of all licensee products and ensure developments in line with market trends and appropriate to the positioning of each franchise.
Develop trend boards, design concepts, art themes and color direction. Identify design fads, trends and direction with comparison against global trends that are relevant.
Create and generate fresh forward concepts that drive Disney business in the upper tier.
Manage, mentor and motivate the creative team working in partnership with category business heads and collaboratively with the broader Disney team in Asia Pacific. Nurture and maintain a positive team environment.

Lead and oversee the development of creative teams and manage productivity for the Southeast Asia region.
Identify and develop talent throughout the region
Establish and maintains relationships with Retail & Licensing team which extends to broader DCP organization of external partners including licensees and retailers in all creative aspects of product development.

Partner with regional Licensing team to direct all product development for the region and help grow the business with innovative creative ideas.
Work with business category managers of all countries and determine individual retailer needs, with priority to Southeast Asia.
Communicate to all category managers and make sure they have appropriate creative content to give to their licensees.
Develop pitch materials to generate new business opportunities.
Improve all category branding, packaging and retail presentations.
Provide creative support and ensure all retail environments are at the best.
Create the seasonal silhouettes to support licensees’ needs, to compliment the graphic portfolios.
Actively collaborate with key partners providing brand support and creative guidance.

Work closely with artists and designers developing unique and relevant style guides to be leveraged in product development.
Create and share locally produced style guides with other regions
Define and develop the highest creative standards in all areas of DCP art & design
Direct external resources in Character Art, Design and Product Development.
Manage assets and information flow to and from various creative partners and agencies.
Contribute in meeting regional financial goals and growth targets



Desired Skills and Experience
Experience and Professional Qualifications Required


Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Fashion Design or a related Field.
Experience:

8 - 12 years of industry experience, of which 6 years spent in a team management position.
Proven track record in product design and development experience across multiple categories and age segments.
Broad experience in design & art field including graphic arts, packaging, product design, exhibition and retail, corporate communications.
Clear view of current marketing trends and up to date with latest trends in fashion, product design, fashion and branding.
Strong portfolio showcasing creative experience.

Strong oral and written communication skills with English proficiency and Mandarin speaking capability.
Others:

Mac Computer skills / knowledge including illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, PDF.
Willing to travel frequently between SEA countries.
