Job Description
The Senior Director, Visa School of Public Policy is responsible for the management and implementation of regional Government Engagement Education Programs (GEEP) in alignment with the global strategy for the school. The successful candidate will work with the Government Relations professionals and country management teams on engagement strategies in each geography within their region as part of the annual business planning process. This will also include establishing a joint accountability process for subsequent action plans for business opportunities that have resulted from these engagements.



The Senior Director will manage the regional budget and resources for the implementation of all government related programs. The individual will assist the Vice President in ensuring alignment and building consensus with regional country management and across regional functional teams.

This position reports directly to the Vice President, School of Public Policy.


Responsibilities

Develop a regional engagement program to support the company’s increased interaction with government policy-makers and other external influencers of the global public policy environment.
Design and deliver a range of relevant educational training programs on relevant issues and opportunities that have been identified.
Develop innovative educational channels such as online educational courses, written newsletters and correspondence where appropriate
Coordinate with various business units and functions to develop bespoke educational programs for use with key government policy-maker communities.
Establish and maintain relationships with respected academic institutions, public policy research organizations, and individual scholars to broaden the pool of expertise available to speak on behalf of the industry generally and Visa specifically.
Establish and maintain appropriate contact with counterparts at other industry participants including client banks.
Ensure proper coordination and leveraging of research material and public policy positions advocated by the Public Policy Development group to ensure Visa maintains a position as industry-leading subject matter experts.

Qualifications

8-10 years of experience delivering tailored educational programs within the electronic payments industry to various groups of external stakeholders
In-depth knowledge of the retail electronic payments industry and strong business, political interest and acumen
Highly developed interpersonal, presentation, and communications skills as well as an excellent listener, who respects the opinions of others.
Experience in working with multiple external stakeholder groups in markets at varying levels of economic development
The ability to persuasively present complex concepts and programs at the highest levels of government and business
High degree of leadership, independence, resourcefulness and decision-making skills
Strong manager with the desire to identify, develop and promote staff talent
Proven ability in analyzing, planning, developing, and implementing major projects and initiatives.
Demonstrates collaborative working style, solicits buy-in and commitment with various stakeholders both inside and outside the organization.
Leads by example and is able to generate respect and loyalty from peers, superiors and subordinates.
Ability to work across multiple time zones in their specific region
Willingness to engage in extensive travel
