You will be a member of the Corporate Development team, which is accountable for transacting acquisitions, disposals, investments, strategic alliances, joint ventures and other special projects on behalf of all country, product and segment teams as well as the Group generally.
Corporate Development is part of the Finance function and designs and executes optimal transaction structures for the Bank, working closely in particular with Executive Directors, other functions and governance, segment and product specialists as well as external advisers.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
You Will Be Required To
Produce financial analyses and valuation models for transactions as a basis for deal structuring and negotiation
Generate and present high quality research and analysis for transactions
Take a proactive role in transactions from the initial scoping phase through to negotiation and completion
Prepare detailed written memoranda and presentations describing the targets and transactions for review by senior management and internal and external stakeholders
Lead and help to develop junior members of the team
Focus in particular on originating new inorganic opportunities in the Asia region
Skills
To succeed in this role, you should have the following characteristics, capabilities and skills:
Deep understanding of banking sector corporate finance principles (M&A, investments, strategic alliances, joint ventures, etc)
Highly numerate and literate
Knowledge of legal and accounting principles relating to M&A
Experience of designing and interpreting complex financial models and valuation
High quality research and analytical skills
Strong project management and communication/negotiation skills
Positive contributor to team in terms of ideas and knowledge
Seeks accountability for time-critical projects
Evidence of commitment to integrity, professionalism and teamwork
