Job Description:
As an active member of the Executive Committee, and a key member of the Leadership team, the Director of Facilities will oversee the day to day operation of the Engineering Division and Landscape Maintenance.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Managing Director, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Develop an operational maintenance structure and strategy for the entire development
Develop training programs for skill and knowledge development in all disciplines
Actively involved in the sourcing and recruitment of high caliber team members throughout the duration of the design and construction period of the complex
Work closely with the ownership group and project management teams to ensure all equipment is properly installed and running smoothly
Manage the Hotel’s Energy Management Systems
Lead and support a diverse team in the operation and maintenance, security, vehicle management and landscape maintenance of the complex
facilitate a building that is remains in "pristine” condition
Liaise with the Rooms Division and Food & Beverage and other related departments to coordinate guest services and resolve emerging issues promptly
Work closely with the Executive Housekeeper to find efficiencies between maintenance and housekeeping to exceed guest and employee expectations
Manage and re-evaluate the need for service contracts and look for efficiencies in the management of such processes
Critique, summarize, and forecast monthly departmental financial performance
Prepare annual departmental operating and capital budgets
Ensure the effective utilization and productivity of all employees including staff planning, recruiting and training and development
Participate as a key member of the Hotel’s Emergency Response Team and the Health & Safety Committee
Develop, monitor and evaluate departmental health and safety (including WHMIS) and emergency response procedure training programs.
Play an active role on the Environmental Committee and implement environmental initiatives across the hotel to support a sustainable environment
Develop an energy management program
Foster an environment of open communication, teamwork and recognition by setting a strong example and by “doing whatever it takes” to get the job done
Participate in Strategic Planning sessions with emphasis on capital project planning, coordination, and execution
Uphold the highest standard of internal and external customer service at all times
Ensure adherence to all statutory regulations and fire codes through regular review of Singapore and International codes
Contribute to a high standard of quality control within the development

Qualifications
Minimum 5 years’ experience as Director of Engineering in a similar operation
Pre-opening and Renovation experience
Engineering degree/diploma
A commercially oriented thinker who will be actively contributing to management decision making, focusing on an efficient and profitable operation
Strong people and negotiation skills required
Well versed in regulations such as building codes, fire, and health and safety
Proven leadership skills in assisting employees to consistently achieve personal and departmental goals
Proactive with strong problem solving abilities to ensure the highest level of productivity at all times
Results oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure
