As an Interior Design Director with Gensler, you will lead the design efforts for Workplace, Lifestyle & Community environments. You must demonstrate proven skills in establishing and developing design schemes as well as extensive experience in leading design teams on multiple projects. To be successful in this role, you must have significant knowledge of design, commercial furniture and finishes, effective communication and presentation skills and strong leadership skills. This role also expect you to actively developing strong business relationships with customers and outside partners.
Leading design efforts through all phases of interior projects including guiding, advising, and mentoring other designers on projects, developing design directions and leading design critiques/forums
Participating in the business development activity as needed
Assume overall responsibility for profit and loss of the studio.
Acting as primary design interface with clients
Selecting interior finishes, furniture and equipment
Producing space plans, furniture plans, elevations, conceptual and finished design presentation documentation
Providing solutions to design problems and generate design alternatives
Reviewing drawings, mock ups, materials, and finish samples submitted by project contractors
Delivering the highest quality of professional service
The ideal candidate must meet the following qualifications to be considered:
10+ years experience in the design and have a significant track record in Interior Design for major design / architecture, interior design consultancies in Workplace or Hospitality interior related projects
Holds a degree in interior design from an accredited program
Knowledge of/Qualifications in sustainable design or applicable building code will be an advantage.
Proficient in all aspects of interior design, prior experience with or knowledge of design/build delivery is a plus
Preferably proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, 3D Studio, sketch up and free hand sketches
Strong organizational, communication and presentation skills
Able to have extensive travel throughout ASEAN upon request.
