With Disney’s growth opportunities and expansion in Southeast Asia, we’re seeking an experienced, self-motivated and super-creative product design expert with proven experience in developing products from concept through production working with internal teams and licensee partners. The successful candidate will lead a team of design staff across the Southeast Asia region in the development of world class merchandise.
The role will get to work with the best intellectual property in the world, across 4 amazing franchises, Disney, Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel.

1. Lead Creative strategy, vision and idea generation for Disney Consumer Products in Southeast Asia.
Develop outstanding, innovative ideas, communicate concepts and manage product design and development closely with internal creative teams and development partners.
Execute the Creative and Brand Initiatives at the global and regional level. Envision and lead design/business initiatives including design programs and product concepts for Southeast Asia within our new Global strategy.
2. Inspire, mentor and motivate the Creative team, working in partnership with DCP business leads in Southeast Asia and collaboratively with Creative teams in Asia to create amazing products that will create lifelong memories.
Lead and oversee the development of creative teams and manage productivity for the Southeast Asia region.
Identify and develop talent throughout the region.
Nurture and maintain a positive team environment.
3. Actively drive all aspects of Product Development – from trend research, to product strategy, product conceptualizing, design direction, to final product approvals.
Manage the quality of all products, in line with market trends and appropriate to the positioning of each franchise.
Develop trend boards, design concepts, art themes and color direction. Identify design fads, trends and direction with comparison against global trends that are relevant.
4. Excel in communication, building relationships and influence to fulfil our vision for consumer products that deliver excellence across various stakeholders.
Partner with regional Licensing team to direct all product development for the region and help grow the business with innovative creative ideas.
Adopt a consultative approach in engaging with relevant business groups make sure they have appropriate creative content to give to partner licensees.
Lead direction in the development of creative pitch materials to generate new business opportunities.
5. Actively collaborate with key partners providing brand support and creative guidance
Work closely with artists and designers developing unique and relevant style guides to be leveraged in product development.
Define and develop the highest creative standards in all areas of DCP art & design.
Direct external resources in Character Art, Design and Product Development.
Manage assets and information flow to and from various creative partners and agencies.
6. Contribute in meeting regional financial goals and growth targets
Basic Qualifications
About you...
8 - 12 years of industry experience, of which 6 years spent in a team management position.
Strong portfolio showcasing creative experience with a proven track record in product design and development experience across multiple categories and age segments.
Strong team player; possessing team synergy skills with a high level of enthusiasm in collaborating in cross functional teams.
Broad experience in design & art field including graphic arts, packaging, product design, exhibition and retail, corporate communications.
Clear view of current marketing trends and up to date with latest trends in fashion, product design, fashion and branding.
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Fashion Design or a related Field.
Exceptional eye for detail, sensitivity to the guest experience and initiative, strong leadership, team player, committed to excellence.
Equipped with excellent project management, analytic skills and proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong oral and written communication skills with English proficiency.
