Job description

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Provide timely and accurate reports to management (local, Regional and Group) and Regulators (including MAS reporting and statutory accounts)
Ensure regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met
Manage solvency and optimize capital level
Manage strategic plan, budgeting and forecasting exercises
Work with senior teams as a business partner
Business performance and execution monitoring
Overall control of financial transactions (including credit control, refund, payment, etc)
Expenses management, budgeting and control
Effective management of capital and solvency position
Finance process improvement

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Financial Reporting

Manage month end closing process and ensure timely and accurate reporting to local management, Regional Office and Head Office
Conduct and provide insightful financial analysis to facilitate decision making process

Regulatory Reporting

Ensure timely and accurate submission to MAS, GIA and relevant Authorities (including quarterly returns, survey and annual MAS stress test)
Timely delivery of tax submissions (corporate tax and GST)
Management of annual statutory audits

Finance Operations

Smooth operations of day to day transactions
Identify process improvement opportunities and increase operational efficiencies
Robust management of credit control risk
Active reporting, monitoring and controlling of management expense
Set up expense policies and ensure compliance

Strategy Planning, budgeting and forecast

Work with business units and regional finance to manage annual strategy planning process and conduct forecasting and budgeting exercises

Capital management

Close monitoring of solvency and conduct stress testing of portfolio
Work closely with Risk Management to implement ERM and RBC2
Manage capital allocation vis-à-vis solvency requirements and enhance ROE

Stakeholder management

Manage key stakeholders’ expectation and ensure regular and timely communication on financial matters
Provide direction and leadership to the department

Desired Skills and Experience

Qualified finance professional with at least 15 years of relevant accounting & finance experience in insurance industry
Strong technical accounting skills, in-depth knowledge of local regulations and finance operations
Possesses leadership skill in managing a large team and wide range of stakeholders including senior management members
Ability to work across cultures
Mature and confident
Excellent communication skills at all level
Singapore experience preferred
