Product Leader - EMV & Digital Device Acceptance - MasterCard - Singapore

Job description
One of MasterCard’s assets is to provide to its stakeholders (issuers, acquirers, merchants, digital giants, etc…) availability of robust and high quality technological products that will enable them to fulfil their business missions and bring new payment solutions in the market with first in class end user experience according to MasterCard requirements.
As part of the Emerging Payments / Platforms department, the “Quality Development” Team is committed to provide technical expertise and to work with MasterCard Stakeholders and Industry Partners to solve any acceptance issues that could damage MasterCard reputation or impact the end user experience.

The team provides technical expertise to several internal initiates and teams dealing with acceptance and Stakeholder complaints to understand the root causes leading to the incident and to work with the industry to fix them.
The team is today composed of two members located in different regions (US and Europe). Opening this new position aims at strengthening the team by adding a new resource in Asia.
This position is given the chance to work at a global level on a high variety of device products including contact, contactless and dual interface cards and form factors, contactless payment terminals and mobiles & digital devices

Location: Singapore

Major accountabilities:
The main tasks of this role are around the management of interoperability issues linked to EMV and digital technologies including Card, Mobile and remote payments. Priority will be given to incidents occurring in Asia Pacific region.
• Provide technical expertise to MasterCard teams managing customer complaints for all products managed by Digital Platforms group.
• Take in charge the technical analysis until the issues are understood and possible mitigation plan agreed with the Customers or its vendors.
• Engage internal and external technical experts and/or laboratory whenever needed
• Liaise with internal teams, acquirers, merchants and issuers to set up field testing whenever needed.
• Exercise a pro-active monitoring of the available service level statistics, to identify potential problems, analyze resolution
• Provide support and technical advises to field audits and mystery shopping campaigns
• Identify specification and process related improvements required to avoid reoccurrence of the same issues
• Produce monthly report to communicate internally about known issues, workaround and need for escalation
• Collaborate with internal organizations during the various phases of the Acceptance Quality initiatives.
• Manage terminal and mobile test benches (Create regional collections of cards, handsets and tools to speed up diagnosis & root cause analysis of acceptance issues at POS.)
• Ensure that the service delivery is according to MasterCard operational SLAs and work in a multi-cultural team (US, Europe and Asia)

Skills / Experience:
- Engineer degree in a technologic branch or similar work experience
- Solid working knowledge dealing with payment digital device industry and/or quality assurance management and/or certification activities
- Experience in database management, maintenance and reporting
- Strong working knowledge of computer software systems
- Good writing and communication skills
- Analytic and synthetic skills
- Ability for multitasking is a must

- Understanding the technologies used in the contact and contactless payment transaction area, namely:
 Integrated Circuit / microprocessors
 Analogue and digital communication protocols
 Software Engineering
 Radio Frequency and antenna
 Mobile technology
- Knowledge of EMVCo, Global Platform and MasterCard products and specifications is a plus, namely:
 EMV 4 and Global Platform specifications
 EMV CCPS 2.x specifications
 M/Chip 4
 M/Chip Advance
 Mobile MasterCard PayPass – M/Chip 4
 PayPass M/Chip Reader v2.x and v3.0

Good understanding of the EMV & Digital Device vendor design & production environment
