Job description
General Motors Corporate Development is a diverse group of corporate finance professionals located in Detroit, Shanghai, Singapore, Sao Paulo and Russelsheim supporting GM’s operations throughout the world.
The incumbent's responsibilities include the development and execution of various corporate transactions such as Strategic M&A, Divestitures, Alliances and Intellectual Property Licensing. GM Corporate Development serves as the “think tank” focused on finding and developing global strategic initiatives.
Objective:
Work closely with finance, legal and functional teams to manage all aspects of corporate development project execution including opportunity identification, valuation, and due diligence
Preparing financial analysis, modeling, forecasting and budgeting for business transactions
Facilitate and support corporate and regional strategy development efforts including strategic plans and strategic business initiatives. Work closely with regional business leaders to assess operational improvement opportunities
Participate in Negotiations and manage existing relationships with external parties
Prepare presentation materials and written proposals for senior leadership for evaluation of transactions and strategic initiatives
Build cross-functional teams and assist in managing the deal process
Provide analytical support for selected ad-hoc projects

Desired Skills and Experience
Master’s degree with particular emphasis in finance; a background in economics, accounting, engineering or operations is also valuable or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years working experience in corporate development, finance or strategic planning roles
Experience at top-tier consulting firm or investment bank preferred
Strong analytical and organizational abilities
Effective oral and written communication skills up/down/across the organization
High level of interpersonal skills and commitment to teamwork and partnerships
Ability to prioritize assignments/projects and multi-task within restricted time constraint
Willingness to travel 20-50%
