Job description
The Finance Director is a business partnering role working closely with the Group Digital Life (GDL) business leaders, and the key responsibilities are as follow:
Monitor and analyze the business and financial performance of all GDL Business Units (BUs) and able to produce reports/dashboards whenever required.
Work with the BUs to understand their financial performance on a regular basis; ensure proper and timely communication of issues arising from the business review.
Review forecasts and trends of expenses and identify issues and opportunities.
Direct and oversee the annual budget and forecasting process across all GDL BUs including, but not limited to, preparing presentation slides to Senior Management.
Ensure planning cycle, consolidation process and reporting requirement deadlines are met by facilitating and coordinating efforts across multiple business units to gather required data.
Review data on historical and future forecast in performance; develop reports and provide advice & counsel to management for development of appropriate actions.
Track and provide timely report to CEO GDL and relevant stakeholders on the progress of key initiatives.
Anticipate the effect of other relevant systems and procedures on FP&A processes by applying knowledge of accounting, finance and business processes.
Provide on-going support and analyze financial consequences of business decisions and participate in monitoring major investment plans.
Manage a range of ad-hoc projects including, but not limited to, business and cost modelling projects.
Desired Skills and Experience
Good Bachelor degree in Accountancy or Finance from a recognised university. MBA or CPA qualifications will be advantegous.
At least 12 years of relevant financial accounting, planning and analysis, or cost accounting experience. Proficient in Financial Modeling.
Good understanding of financial systems and how they meet Management, Financial and regulatory reporting requirements.
Prior knowledge of telecommunication and/or multimedia industry will be preferred.
Excellent analytical skills and ability to identify financial impact of business decisions and make appropriate recommendations on available alternatives.
Possess good presentation and interpersonal skills with ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both within and across business units.
Excellent leadership and people skills, able to lead and coach subordinates and manage cross cultural virtual teams.
Possess good business sense and critical/analytical aptitude, with ability to make sound decisions and act as advisor/partner in line management.
Able to work flexibly in a dynamic environment, and also work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
Possess strong customer service orientation as well as budget management skills.
