Job description
The International Wealth Management Asia Operations Trade Support team is responsible for supporting the Equity, Fixed Income, Equity Derivatives and Alternative Investment trade flows executed by the Private Wealth Management business unit in Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia. The investment product range the team deals with is diverse and therefore provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to gain exposure to a variety of products.
The IWM Trade Support team supports IWM Asia business units' activities and has diverse responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Trade processing of after-sales activities and operational support for pre-matching
- Liaising with the front office to address queries and issues relating to their clients.
- Acts as a single point of contact to other Operations teams in the firm.
- Providing value-added client service to the business
- Ensuring that all operational risks are recognised and managed, providing control to the business
- Developing and maintaining strong internal client relationships.
- Continually seeking opportunities for improvement and delivering innovative solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the overall daily operations in the team
- Identification and timely escalation of risk items to management
- Provide client service to the business
- Manage ad-hoc business requests
- Pro-actively contributing towards the drive to improve process efficiency
- Managing team capacity, with flexibility to cover BAU tasks for team coverage if necessary
- Manage and implement supervisory procedures
- Involvement in projects requiring IWM Asia operations input
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be/have:
- 5-6 years experience in banking industry (preferably performing trade support or settlements role)
- Attention to detail, accuracy & quality
- Experience escalating risk issues to sales & trading or other business units
- People management experience (1-2-1's, annual appraisals, performance management)
- Experience preparing team procedures and assessing team controls
- Ability to work in a fast pace environment
- Able to work in a fluid team environment and within tight deadlines
- Prepared to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment
- Strong in building relationship with stakeholders
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
