Director - Strategy - Edelman - Singapore
Job description
This role will oversee both general workflow/operations within Edelman Digital in Singapore and the strategic planning function for all Singapore digital activity.
The individual will be required to work collaboratively with Singapore agency management and specifically practice directors in consumer, healthcare, technology and corporate and finance. Corporate to identify, sell and manage integrated (PR, creative, social, digital) projects as well as organic digital opportunities that arise from PR relationships.
The individual will be skilled in the science of conducting and interpreting data (specifically consumer behavior as relates to digital marketing) and the art of extracting meaning from this data via actionable digital insights, concepts and programs. All this must be handled using a collaborative, team-based approach.
The individual will also be required to work cross-border to support and in some cases lead digital/social programs in South-East Asia and also provide support on programs led out of Australia and/or the Middle East. We see Singapore as a centre of excellence for planning: the role will be central to achieving this goal.
Responsibilities
- Oversee existing digital/social programs on key clients
- Proactively develop new programs for Edelution clients with issues/opportunities
- Provide strategy, planning and research support on new business efforts within digital
- Proactively build digital new business pipeline in collaboration with all practice leads especially consumer brand and sectors technology and health
- Selling, managing proprietary research projects specific to social or digital
- Work with performance/connection/engagement experts on media plans
- Oversee thought leadership efforts specific to digital/social trend/paid media activity
- Train junior digital specialists to elevate their strategic thinking/planning in developing digital/social programs
- Provide office wide guidance and training on planning and insights (at least one session per quarter)
Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements
- 10 years experience in digital marketing
- Five years experience managing specialist digital and/or social teams
- Ability to oversee both qualitative and quantitative research projects
- Understanding of delivery elements including programming languages
- Understanding of paid media elements including search and banners
- Familiarity with commonly used digital and social web analytics tools
