Job Description
To perform the legal duties for Manulife (S) Pte Ltd (“Company”) , which will include:
Attending to all legal matters of the Company including advising, vetting and drafting of legal agreements in relation to the Company’s business transactions, sales and distribution models and product development
Working with and advising the business units on queries or legal matters that should arise that relate to the Company’s affairs.
Working on regulatory changes or legal issues with MAS or the LIA on consultation papers or workgroups for legal issues related to the life insurance industry.
Managing the risk-exposure of the Company by ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements
Promotion of legal awareness among local management and staff.
Acting on claims that may be made by the Company in debt recovery.
Working with external lawyers to initiate lawsuits or to formulate a defence, to gather evidence in legal proceedings involving the Company and rendering general advice relating to any legal proceedings involving the Company.
Managing any projects or activities as may be directed from time to time.
