Senior Business Leader, Debit Product Management and Development, APMEA RegionLocation: SingaporeOverviewThis individual will be the lead manager for the APMEA region Debit Product team. This position will play the lead role in setting the debit growth strategy and developing an innovation agenda for debit in the APMEA region. In addition, this position will be responsible for developing a range of issuer portfolio optimization strategies for implementation across the APMEA region with the objective of optimizing both Issuer and MasterCard debit revenues. The individual will drive ideation conception, business plan development, research and validation of ideas and implementation of new debit programs and features that support the MasterCard debit offering in APMEA. In support of portfolio optimization this individual will lead in the development of portfolio management tools including portfolio segmentation, acquisition best practices, ATM and POS activation strategies and sustainable POS engagement tools and tactics. The individual will manage a team whom is responsible for development of new products targeting specific consumer segments and in recognition of local market maturities. The Debit team is responsible for working with cross functional partners to ensure key usage channels such as acceptance in every day spend categories, ATMs in emerging markets and eCommerce are available to cardholders This individual will be responsible for ensuring that MasterCard debit offerings have competitive features, functions and creativity distinction from competitive offerings. In addition, this individual will support region sales on key customer opportunities and partner with marketing teams to develop effective and measureable consumer and B2B campaigns to drive increased card issuance and usage to deliver on established business objectives.
Accountabilities: · Develop strategic business plans for debit growth and new products within the region, including rigorous analysis of revenue opportunities and related costs.· Lead the development of innovated and differentiated debit products to meet current and emerging needs of MasterCard customers and the market.· Identify and respond to competitive threats to MasterCard revenue streams from domestic network developments or non-traditional payments providers.· Responsible for evaluating and applying market research and directing opportunity assessments on new ideas and concepts.· Acting as the lead Debit subject matter expert in supporting key account sales meetings, RFPs and senior management engagement, including evaluation and contribution of customer business agreements for major debit deals· Development of product level communications and educational materials for Issuers on a market by market basis.· Develop consumer positioning and communication plans and programs to drive acquisition, activation and usage of debit products.· Responsible for strategy implementation, program ideation, execution and results tracking and analysis. · Collaborating with customer facing colleagues in the planning process to ensure that MasterCard is both responding to and bringing added debit value propositions to customer plans will be a key to success.· Presenting plans and strategies at internal and customer meetings will be the responsibility of this position.· Leads a cross-functional process with marketing, communications and region colleagues to support launch of new features, programs and promotions.· Reponsible for reporting, tracking and management of the Debit Revenue and Expense budget for the region to corporate standards and KPIs· Key contributor to the vision of Global Debit Product responding “locally” and leveraging “globally.”· This position will manage 7 FTE
Experience Required:· Bachelor’s Degree Required, Advanced Degree Preferred· 10-15 years of relevant work experience; 5+ years experience in managing design and development of new card programs, including history of leading successful card product development and introduction, familiarity with issuer research requirements and financial considerations, preferably with debit perspective.· Expertise in managing business case development· Strong knowledge of card program management processes and considerations in an issuer environment; familiarity with technological considerations within the bankcard/EFT processing environment· Must demonstrate deep understanding of product development lifecycle and product management principles.· Excellent writing and presentation skills· Ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels and all the regions in LAC· Experience with identifying issues before they develop into problems with proactive resolution· Results orientation· Flexibility
