Job Description
This Senior Director role in the AP Strategy Team supports the AP regional Head of Strategy in leading the formulation, analytical review, preparation and communication of the AP strategy (and associated Sub Regional and Market Strategy plans). As a strategist, the individual will work with and support key areas of the business – both across functions and geographies - in development of their own strategies and to ensure their understanding, alignment and buy-in to the regional & global corporate strategy. This role will help define partnership opportunities, identify risk mitigation strategies, and develop new solutions and product/service requirements to meet market needs. This position will be based out of Singapore.
Responsibilities
Develop integrated strategies and execute initiatives in key countries
Work in conjunction with country management and functional management (processing, product, government relations, corporate relations, acceptance, risk, etc.) to develop and execute country-specific partnership and risk mitigation strategies
Develop strategic frameworks enabling countries to anticipate and respond to strategic issues, identify issues of greatest potential impact on Visa AP and initiate and lead as required strategic reviews to address those issues
Working in conjunction with appropriate teams, proactively engage appropriate functional areas to work with key stakeholders (including clients, central banks, regulators, vendors, NGOs etc.) to enable successful planning and execution
Identification of strategic issues to be discussed by Regional Management Committee, and provision of information to enable discussion and decision making
Drive and manage the annual corporate business planning process through partnering with senior executives at AP LT (Leadership team) level and their direct reports and core teams; scoping of the sub-regional implementation plan and ensuring the alignment of these plans to regional and global business strategies
Develop common solutions and communication that support the group strategy
Evaluate challenges and needs across markets to identify opportunities for common solutions
Develop country case studies, white papers, best practices, research, webinars, etc. as part of the NPS center of excellence from time to time
With guidance from the Head of Strategy, manage on-going communication of the regional strategic intent and targets internally within AP, as well as externally where required, specifically:
Ability to quickly assess an opportunity´s potential and risk, leveraging fact-based analyses and industry experience
Ability to handle multiple projects, with proven leadership success over a wide variety of functional business problems
Work with limited direction, usually within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations to senior management
Ability to manage multiple diverse stakeholders with differing opinions, resolve conflicts, drive collective analysis and decision-making, and achieve meaningful outcomes
Ability to work effectively in an international environment, particularly emerging markets
Qualifications
Professional
Bachelor degree preferably with in Economics, Statistics, Business or similar
MBA or other advanced degree an advantage
Significant experience in leading strategy projects and working with senior management
Pro-active and effective communicator, experienced in presenting information to all levels and with ability to facilitate group discussions and debate
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and proven experience of project management
Technical
Analytical and strategic acumen
Strong knowledge of payment network industry
Highly numerate with attention to detail and ability to structure and analyze databases.
Business
Strong interpersonal and execution skills
Able to manage work in different time zones effectively
International experience a plus
Ability to be recognized as thought leader
Ability to influence the organization in order to make strategy happen
Professional, confident and outgoing with the ability to maintain good communication with wide internal and external audiences.
