Job Description
This role ensure that there are strong and effective partnership based relationships with the primary Global Distributors and Consultant Groups across Asia, to remove issues from key stakeholders in Franklin Templeton and to ensure high quality and cost effective delivery of services. The role will have primary responsibility for the management of strategic relationships and research coverage of global clients in the region, namely investment consultants and global financial institutions. The position will also lead various internal coordination functions, working closely and in collaboration with the Investment Advisory Services (IAS) and distribution groups; with Consultant Relations and Cross Border teams; with leaders and key business partners/stakeholders across Franklin Templeton including members of our investment management groups. Location of the role is either Hong Kong or Singapore.

Responsibilities:

Takes an Enterprise wide view of the relationships with the designated Global Distributors, Consultants and Clients

Troubleshoots/acts as escalation on service, relationship, product and business issues and to provide early warning to FT stakeholders and senior management of emerging or escalating issues or change

Encourages and challenges internally to facilitate best practice, consistent and effective working methods with and partnership between the Distributors, Consultants, Clients and Franklin Templeton (FT)

Work closely with colleagues in the GFI team as well as business partners within distribution as well as portfolio investment management groups to build strategy to maximize our market penetration across our investment capabilities

Engage, communicate & report in a timely manner with internal stakeholders within FT on the business side (Sales, Client Service, Portfolio, Product Marketing, Product Management, RFP, etc.)

Attend industry events and conferences and report back to internal business partners on trends and opportunities in this space.

Communicate opportunities to enhance existing strategies and develop new products through ongoing dialogue and relationship building with consultants/global distributors.

Work with GFI members to identify and communicate trends (product, market, asset allocation and search etc) utilizing external tools and publications such as consultant websites/publications, iiSearches, FinDaily and P&I Daily and the ongoing dialogue

Proactively report on current thinking, strategy and trends within the consulting and X-border relationship, issues and challenges, and staying current on key account management in the financial services industry

Map out Consultant and X-border client business model and organizational chart to ensure relationship management needs are met throughout the organizations hierarchy.

Work closely with the sales and distribution to organize roadshows across multiple potential contacts, including clients, prospects, consultants and gatekeepers.

Ensure adequate metric reporting is submitted and tracked in a timely manner

Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required

CFA certification/MBA or relevant Master degree is advantage

At least 10 years’ experience in the investment management industry

Experience in institution sales, business development and/or client relationships required

Strong understanding of broad array of investment asset classes, strategies and investment process

Previous experience and/or exposure to institutional investors, including consultants/gatekeepers

Highly motivated, enthusiastic, self-starter with strong knowledge of investment product

Ability to exercise independent judgment consistent with company/department guidelines

Ability to maintain updated knowledge of procedures, products and activities of assigned areas

Solve routine problems of varying scope and complexity following established policies and procedures

Develops solutions to a variety of problems; ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives

Ability to set strategy, create focus and with business partners, including portfolio, product management, sales and client service

Travel required (up to 40% within Asia)
Location either in Hong Kong or Singapore
